The NESMS car park barrier is back in action…after a fashion.

A reminder to please come to the front door to collect the barrier fob from the shelf behind the front door, before driving round to the car park. At the barrier it’s a simple point and click.

There’s a slight change to exiting the car park, as the barrier will no longer raise automatically as you approach it as the exit sensor remains broken. This means that Colin or Ailsa will need to click you out after your lesson.

We’re so close to reaching our end of term here with just the final few lessons to teach before the summer holidays can really begin at NESMS.

Remember, you can still rent a studio over the summer (only £8.50/hour) by emailing the office in advance, but please be sure to check the calendar on the NESMS website first to see if the building will be closed or not.

A reminder to those new scholarship holders to get their thank you letters to their sponsors into us; emailed or posted. Thanks to those who have already sent them in.

We will be in touch in a few weeks time to start offering out dates and times for those tutors set to return in August for the start of the new term, so please remember to keep checking those spam folders.

Join us next month in the Big Sky Studio for an afternoon of flute music performed by Isla Rippiner and Olwenn Stewart, accompanied by Colin Stewart, and members of the NESMS flute choir. Featuring solos, duets and ensemble pieces by Teleman, Debussy, Prokofiev and Doppler.

Tickets are available from the Aberdeen Performing Arts box office.

I’m delighted to be directing the Aberdeen Orpheus Choir, a local choir, established in 1955, welcoming men and women of all voices and abilities.

Choir singing is a wonderful way to improve wellbeing, build confidence, develop vocal skills, and connect with others through a shared love of music.

At The Orpheus Choir, we explore a wide range of repertoire, from Bach to The Beatles, while developing musical skills such as notation, dynamics, and ensemble singing.
