A shout out to all the young people from Lochside Academy who have been mentoring the children in Loirston Primary school in Aberdeen. Thank you to Sarah Chew (CEO, Wood Foundation), Craig Singer (Youth Work Manager, Aberdeen City Council) and David McNally (Guidance, Lochside Ac) for visiting this programme at Loirston Primary today, hearing from the young people on why they joined Growing2gether, what they got out of the 16 week mentoring experience (SCQF level 4) and their next steps and aspirations.
Gratitude to all the team at Loirston Primary for hosting us and sharing the impact you are seeing in both the children being mentored and the teenage mentors.
Today reminded me that in a world so often dominated by technology, screen time and the virtual world, what we often crave is genuine human relations. Today was one of those days that you feel honored to witness such goodness in the world...sometimes its the simple things that are the most profound :) Special thanks goes to Kelly, Lorna (Growing2gether facilitators) and Cameron (Aberdeen City CLD Youth work team) who make this all happen.

As the school year comes to a close, our staff are now signing off for the summer break! 🌞

We’d like to wish all of our wonderful families a happy, healthy, and restful holiday. Thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the year – it truly means so much to us.

Our Nursery will remain open over the summer, with the exception of one week beginning 13th July.

We hope you all enjoy a fantastic summer, making special memories with your loved ones. We’re looking forward to a well-earned break and can’t wait to welcome everyone back refreshed for the new term!

💙 Farewell to our Loirston Staff Leavers! 💙

Today we said farewell to several valued members of our staff as they move on to new chapters.

Mrs Uren, Mr Ferguson and Mr Doherty conclude their time with us after covering maternity posts, while Miss Leith and Miss Forrest have completed their probation year. We also wish Mr Jack and Mrs Grant all the very best as they begin an exciting new adventure abroad with their families.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, dedication, and positive impact each of them has given to our school community. They will be greatly missed, and we wish them every success and happiness in the future.

This incredible achievement reflects months of dedication, teamwork, and determination. Every single member played their part, and the result speaks for itself.

A special thank you to our amazing House Captains for their leadership, commitment, and for inspiring such a fantastic team spirit throughout the year. We are so proud of you all! 💫

A huge thank you to our amazing Play Leaders, school staff, parent volunteers and the Active Schools team for everything you’ve done to support sport and physical activity across the Loirston community this year! Here’s to another great year ahead!☀️🏃‍♀️🏆💙

Thank you to ALL of the volunteers, staff at all schools across the ASG and our fantastic Young Leaders and learners who have made it possible for over 1000 children in the ASG to access sport and physical activity this year.

It would not be possible for any of this to happen without their time and passion!

Yesterday we held a lovely and emotional leavers’ assembly to celebrate our amazing Primary 7s. They showcased so much incredible talent, and it was truly wonderful to see them shine.
