📢 Grampian Deaf Children’s Society AGM – You’re Invited!
We warmly invite all families, members, and supporters to attend the Grampian Deaf Children’s Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday 22nd March.
The AGM is a great opportunity to:
• Hear about what the society has achieved over the past year
• Learn about plans and activities for the year ahead
• Share your ideas and help shape the future of the society
• Meet other families and connect with the community
Your voice and involvement help us continue supporting deaf children and their families across the Grampian area. Whether you’ve been involved for years or are new to the society, we would love to see you there.
💬 Everyone is welcome, and we encourage as many members as possible to attend.
Thank you for being part of our community and helping us make a difference. 💜

The Scottish Government has launched a 12‑week consultation on the new Right to Breaks for carers in Scotland. This change to existing carers legislation aims to give unpaid carers stronger rights, so that anyone who is not getting sufficient breaks from caring can get the support they need to take a break.

Under this change in legislation, Local Authorities will have a duty to make sure carers get the support they need to take a sufficient break from caring. At the moment, they are proposing to do this using the information collected through Adult Carer Support Plans and Young Carer Statements.

The consultation is asking for your views on:
✅what “sufficient breaks” should mean
✅what types of breaks should be included in the new Right to Breaks
✅ timescales for preparing Adult Carer Support Plans and Young Carer Statements
✅how the transition to the new system should work

Your experiences and opinions will directly help shape the final regulations and guidance for these new rights. You can take part in the consultation here:
https://consult.gov.scot/dementia-and-unpaid-carers-unit/unpaid-carers-right-to-breaks-implementation/

We will also be holding engagement events with carers in the coming weeks so you will have more opportunities to discuss what this could mean for you. More details coming soon.

If you encounter an issue while using a Changing Places toilet, please inform the venue if you can, and let us know as well. We'll follow up with the venue to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and update the online Changing Places Toilet map accordingly.

You can leave feedback on the CPT toilet map whilst selecting the venue in question, or email us at [email protected].

The Pamiloo is at Spectra, Scotland's Festival of Light, tonight until 10pm, as well as Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4.30pm to 10pm.

We will be parked beside Rosemount Viaduct. Come and say hello!

Thanks to funding from the Aberdeen HSCP carers strategy Implementation group and the enthusiasm of the Spectra team, PAMIS were able to facilitate the Pamiloo at Spectra for the full length of the 4-night festival for the first time ever. This sensory and artistic wonder just got even more incLOOsive.
