1 Week includes:

 5 days of half hour lessons (April 6-10)
 A certificate upon completion
 Opportunity to showcase your hard work to friends/family and have a recording to keep

January Update 2025!

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope you’ve all kept safe and warm with the wintry weather we’ve had to start this Year… It’s been a little while since I’ve updated you on everything Michael Fraser Music Tuition, however I’m glad to be back to give everyone the news on everything ‘music-tuition’ as we head into the rest of the new term - with the biggest and best roster I’ve had in my years of teaching so far! So, let’s get into the update...

OCTOBER DRUMMER SCHOOL 2024 SUCCESS

Although a little late to getting the word out, I wanted to say a quick ‘Congratulations!’ to everyone and their hard work during last year’s October Drummer School 2024! We had some fantastic work learning new songs and skills on Drum kit, and had a blast sharing it with family and friends who attended the end of week showcases! We had wonderful performances of the likes of: The Ghostbuster’s Theme, Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses, and Thriller to name but a few – a massive ‘Well Done’ to you all for your hard work! I hope you all had as much fun learning as I did teaching, and I look forward to seeing some of you again as the new term starts, and hopefully everyone else too in the coming drummer Schools… (Hint, hint! See below for more details!...)

TERM 3 LESSONS BEGIN…

As a part of this update, I wanted to say a quick ‘Hello’ and a massive ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who have come onboard over the past three years! I couldn’t do any of what I do without you, and I look forward to seeing the heights we can reach in all things music in the coming year on Drums, Guitar, and Bass! Thank you all again, and if any of you have questions about lessons, set up, or equipment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via Messenger and I’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as I can. There’s no such thing as a silly question after all, and if you’re struggling to set up the likes of your drum kit, I do provide ‘Kit Set-Up’ sessions. In these sessions I can call in to wherever you keep your drum kit, and make sure everything is tuned up and ready to go - all while showing you how everything works and can be adjusted so you can take things from there on!

I also want to give another massive ‘CONGRATULATIONS!’ to those of you who have completed their Music Performance Exams since the last update: everyone has done so well to get to where they are now, and for those of you waiting on results I’m eagerly waiting to hear back from the examiners to see how you’ve all done! I also look forward to seeing the next exams to be sent away this term as many of you have been working hard and will be ready finish your Grade shortly… Well done to you all and your effort learning the pieces you need for your Grades, and I’m excited to see you take on the challenge of learning new pieces!

Finally, while on the topic of the new term: Just a quick reminder that lessons will run as normal when the midterm break comes around in February. I look forward to rocking-on as usual with everyone while they get a refreshing break from school!

EASTER DRUMMER SCHOOL 2025 START DATE

Although there's a few weeks yet before the school holidays in April, for anyone interested in the upcoming 'Easter Drummer School' I know it can be helpful to know what week in the holidays the Drummer School runs to help organise plans with other holiday activities. The School – where anyone of any level, experience and support need gets the opportunity to learn a fun, Easter-themed song – will run on the second week of the Holidays, April 7-11 (Monday to Friday). For those of you who are interested in this, limited places will be available to book in the coming weeks when the event is next posted here on Michal Fraser Music Tuition, so be sure to follow if you want to hear more about this first! If you have any questions in the meantime, I’d be more than happy to hear from you and tell you more too!

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve all been able to make the most of the summer break? I know I’ve been lucky enough to spend time with friends and family through the summer alongside running one of the most successful Summer Drummer School’s EVER this year! Now though, I know I’m looking forward to jumping back into the swing of things with everything Michael Fraser Music Tuition as Schools go back this Academic Year! But, let’s hear more about what’s been going on, and what’s happening next at Michael Fraser Music Tuition!...

SUMMER DRUMMER SCHOOL 24 SUCCESS

This year’s Summer Drummer School has been nothing short of amazing! THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you that came over to have a go learning a new piece on the drums as a part of this year’s Summer Drummer School! The pupil turnout, number of first-timers, variety of music, and the accomplishments of everyone’s hard work was off the charts this year! We had Guns N Roses, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Foo Fighters, and music from Top Gun to name just a few of the amazing pieces everyone did a great job learning to play… WELL DONE to each and every one of you and I hope you all had as great a time learning as I did teaching! You should all be so proud of what you accomplished for your Friday performances and showing off all your hard work to your family and friends – here’s to the next Drummer School in October (keep your eyes peeled for an update on this soon!), and well done again to you all!

TERM 1 BEGINS

With the end of the Summer break comes the beginning of a new academic year! Starting tomorrow (Monday August 19), we return to the usual term-time schedule, with lessons catering to Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Piano at the Home Studio in Oldmeldrum, and Dee Street Music Tuition in Aberdeen (Drums only). If you’re interested in learning any of these instruments, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and I’d be delighted to see what I can do for you! For those of you currently waiting on confirmation of a place, I will be in touch in the next couple weeks while everything settles down with the start of the new term and I will let you know what I can do for you soon! Similarly, if you’re already on the roster I’ll be in touch with you very soon to confirm you’re still happy with your day/time, and check if any changes need to be made. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing/being in touch with you all again very soon!

FURTHER EXAM SUCCESS!

Last thing before I finish this update – another MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to those of you have completed their exams this past term! You’ve all done so well and worked very hard to achieve the results you’ve received – WELL DONE again! For those of you still waiting on any results/submissions, I’ll be in touch with you in the next couple days to confirm any outstanding details, and we’ll get everything sorted so you can get your certificates as proof of all the hard work you’ve put in as well!

- TERM 4 BEGINS + EXAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Hello all! I hope everyone’s been able to enjoy the Easter break and are ready to Rock and Roll back into another school term! It’s been a busy holiday with the completion of Easter Drummer School 2024, but I know I’m keen and ready to jump back into the swing of things with weekly lessons at both Dee Street Music Studio and the Home Studio! This update, I want to quickly summarise the success of Easter Drummer School 2024 before looking to the term ahead… Here it goes!

EASTER DRUMMER SCHOOL 24 SUCCESS

First thing I’d like to share is all the fantastic effort that went into everyone’s drumming over Easter Drummer School 2024! We had wonderful showcase performances of the likes of: Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, The 1975’s ‘Chocolate’, Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’, and an impromptu addition of Linkin Park’s ‘In the End’ that we were able smash as well! Everyone, new faces and familiar, did a great job learning to play these pieces in the 5 short days we had – WELL DONE!! I look forward to seeing everyone’s drum skills develop even more over the coming term, and hope to see all new faces back sometime soon as well!

TERM 4 BEGINS + EXAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS

With the turn of Spring and the coming of Summer means the final term of the academic year! Starting this week, April 15, Term 4 offers up the opportunity for even more musical learning at Michael Fraser Music Tuition after such a great Term 3 of Exams and skills development! A massive well done to you all who have completed their music exams – some their first – and achieved so much with their work and results! I can’t wait to see where everyone can go in the coming term, be that simply working on new pieces and skills for fun, or working towards the next grade up! If you’re interested in starting Music lessons for Drums, Bass Guitar, and Beginner Guitar and Piano, I’d be delighted to hear from you via this page’s Messenger – hope to hear from you soon!

February Mid-Term Update!

Hello again everyone! I hope you're all able to keep nice and warm as another cold spell blows through! Just a small midterm update to keep everyone in the loop with everything going on at Michael Fraser Music Tuition. Between great news with pupil exams, the return of Easter Drummer School, and lessons available all through the midterm break, there's an opportunity for everyone to come and enjoy music tuition in the ways that work for them! With this, let's get on with this update!

LESSONS AS NORMAL: MIDTERM REMINDER

Just a quick reminder that lessons do continue as normal in the coming Midterm Break! The reason for this is due to different schools in different council areas (Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils) having different in-service and occasional days, which, as a school, is pretty hard to manage! So instead lessons simply run as normal to avoid any greater confusion. If anyone is unable to attend lessons for this reason though, please don't hesitate to get in touch, and I'll see what I can do to reorganise another lesson for you!

EXAM SUCCESS!

Just a quick and exciting note on this, but I wanted to formally recognise those of you who have completed exams with me recently! Everyone got FANTASTIC results and simply couldn't have done better, so a big WELL DONE again to you all (you know who you are!) and I look forward to seeing every future success coming your way too! ROCK-ON drummers!!

The days are slowly getting brighter, the snow drops are out, and that means that Easter Drummer School 2024 is just around the corner! More details of this will be shared soon, but for those of you interested in having a bash playing a (roughly!) Easter Themed Drum song of your choosing in the coming school holiday, look no further! The School will be running from April 1-5, the first week of the school holidays, and if you already have an inclination that you'd like to attend please get in touch as early enquiries are welcome! January Update 2024

Hello all, and very HAPPY NEW YEAR to you! I hope everyone's been able to enjoy a well earned rest over the festive period, and you are looking forward to getting back to 'rocking and rolling' as the new term begins! I know I've enjoyed the rest these past few weeks, but am equally looking forward to getting back to lessons with you all too! With that, let's get to it with the first update of 2024!...

TERM BEGINS JANUARY 8

With the bringing of a New Year brings the start of the new school term and with it the return of lessons as well (Yay!!!). Starting January 8th, in-line with the 3rd school term, lessons for Drums and Bass will resume as normal! I will be in touch with parents/pupils with more on this soon, and will similarly discuss examination with those of you in the process as well - another MASSIVE well done to those of you who have completed their exams last term! Overall however, I am really looking forward to getting back to lessons and developing all of our musical skills going into the new term - and seeing what we can all achieve!

NEW LESSONS AVAILABLE IN OLDMELDRUM

As mentioned in my previous update, there are now a limited number spaces available for lessons at Dee Street Music Studio in Aberdeen. However, I am delighted to announce (after buying a house no less!) that I will be opening up lessons to Drums, Bass, AND Beginner Guitar in my new 'Home Music Room' on Thursdays and Saturdays!! All the same deals and offers (eg. Family and Pensioner Discounts etc.) will be available as outlines in the 'Services Summary' post pinned on this Page. If you're interested in learning the likes of drums, bass and guitar, or know somebody else who would, I'd be delighted to hear from you either by email on: [email protected] or by this Page's Messenger - I look forward to hearing from you soon!

LESSON REMINDER FOR IN-SERVICE DAYS/LONG WEEKENDS

With school Term 3 now rolling in, I would just like to send out a quick, customary reminder that lessons will run as normal through the any upcoming long-weekends and any in-service/occasional school days. The reason for this is that not all schools and councils keep to the same days off across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, so the easiest way to navigate this is to keep things consistent through the term as to not create any more confusion! That being said, if there are any issues attending any lessons through the term, please do not hesitate to get in touch, and I'll see what I can do to help!

That just about wraps things up for this first update of 2024! I would just like to sign off with another massive thank you to all of you who have come onboard for lessons with me at Michael Fraser Music Tuition, and I greatly appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into the lessons you have all attended with me! And to finish, of course, the Easter Holidays are up on the horizon, which can mean only one thing: EASTER DRUMMER SCHOOL 2024!! Quick Christmas Update!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to send out a quick 'Merry Christmas' to you all, and hope that you enjoy all that the holiday brings, wherever you are, and whoever you are with!

I know I've had a great time working with all my students on the run up to the holidays, and want to thank them for all their hard work, and for being such great pupils! We've never had so many doing, or preparing, for exams; moving up the grades and developing their skills - I am so proud of you all! We've also never been so popular, with the most pupils I've ever had onboard with Michael Fraser Music Tuition: to the point that I'm almost booked up with current facilities in Dee Street Music Studio! Fear not however, as in the New Year I will formally start taking enquiries for lessons at my 'Home Music Room' in Oldmeldrum - more on this in the 'January Update'!

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a very happy festive period, and I look forward to what more we can all achieve in the New Year!!
