Socially Distanced Ceramics

These studio and virtual studio sessions allow individual participants and groups to develop their own projects with guidance and demonstration from a tutor. Participants are encouraged to explore a range of techniques including pinch pots, coil and slab building, carving, modelling, extrusion, working with plaster, press molds, slip casting, throwing as well a variety

of glazing and finishing techniques to realize their individual projects. This range of techniques are suitable to make both functional ceramic pieces as well as sculptural objects and are suitable for beginners and refreshers. Kevin Andrew Morris graduated with BA (Hons) in Ceramic Design in 2010 from The Glasgow School of Art. Since then he has gone on to exhibit his work nationally and internationally as well as work with a range of artists, institutions and work on various public projects. Currently based in Aberdeen Morris is often referred to as a ‘Nomadic Ceramicist’ working across Scotland. Making narrative work that considers traditional and contemporary practice through slip casting and atmospheric firing as well as providing a foundation of contemporary skills, expertise and knowledge for others through classes and workshops. Integral to his practice is participation and engagement, valuing opportunities to continue to learn alongside others. Tutored sessions cost £30 phr/ Tutored session concession cost £25phr
Untutored sessions cost £20phr/Untutored sessions concession cost £15phr

Materials and firings provided at additional cost where required, basic tools are provided alongside workshop facilities and tuition. Concession price available for students, recent graduates (within one year of graduation), unemployed, underemployed, retired and adults over 65.
