Green Meadow Riding Centre A family run riding school for over 40yrs, we're situated in the scenic Dare Valley Country Park.

We cater for for all abilities, ages 4 and up, and offer a range of off road hacks and taught lessons. At Green Meadow Riding Centre we are well equipped for all aspects of horse riding and related activities.

Summer is here, which means it's almost time for our yearly party in the barn! 🤩

This year we'll be joined by a local band providing great music for us to dance the night away 🎸
There's also a licenced bar selling a variation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the night 🍺🍷

Tickets cost £8 and a burger is included in the price! 🍔
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to our RDA group 🐴

Tickets for this event always go quickly, so if you want to get yours, be sure to pop up the yard or give the office a call before it's too late 🎟

It's almost summer! ☀️☀️
Which means it's almost time for our summer courses 🏇🏻

Have you booked your place yet?

We'll have a variety of courses for all levels, from half-day courses, to full-day courses and even multi-day courses 🤩

On these courses riders will not only improve their riding skills but also learn some stable management skills, so they can see what goes into taking care of a pony 🐴 Pony club members will have the opportunity to earn new badges and, of course, there'll be plenty of fun and games, too!

Last week we held our annual RDA fun day for our school groups, and it was a lot of fun indeed 🤩

With the sun shining, we made sure riding sessions were short and offered lot of fun on-foot activities, as well! There was an obstacle course which brought out our rider's competitive spirits and a nice calming nature walk in our woodland area 🌳🌳

And of course, there were lots of snacks and refreshments on hand 🥛🥪

We're so proud of our Riders this year, it's been a joy to watch them flourish and improve their skills.
Being with the ponies is so beneficial 🐴

So a big thank you to our riders, their teachers, our volunteers and, of course, the ponies 😊

We hope you all have a brilliant summer ☀️

Good afternoon all!

It was great to welcome some of you back over the weekend and half term, we think the ponies were happy to get back to work, as well.
We're continuing with a restricted opening for a little while longer, but fingers crossed we'll be seeing more of you soon! 🤞🏻
And when you pop up next you might notice that our shop has had a smart new paint job 👀 Be sure to pop in and take a look at what we have in stock

And we'd like to take this opportunity to give a MASSIVE shout out to one of our regular riders, Lily, who very generously raised some funds to put towards the of care of our ponies. How wonderful of her 🤩 we are very grateful and both we and the ponies are most certainly feeling the love 🐴🥰 thank you, Lily!

Good afternoon everyone,

After taking advice from the vet, we are going to get the ponies back into work this weekend ready to welcome you back for half term.
The ponies have enjoyed a few weeks off and are ready to get back into their lessons and are excited to see their riders again.

Once we are open we will have stringent biosecurity measures on the yard that must be followed.
But, don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds and it will be explained to all customers

Give us a call over the weekend to confirm or make a booking for next week, but please be aware that this will be a restricted opening which unfortunately means no hacks and no outside horses.

Hello all, just a quick update as we're sure everyone is curious about the situation.

Firstly, the poorly pony is doing well and we've been monitoring all other ponies and so far they seem fine, though we will continue checking for symptoms throughout the week.

We've been working with the vet, and following their advice we have decided to remain closed for this coming weekend.
We understand some of you may be disappointed to be missing another week of riding, but it is important to keep any infection contained to prevent risk to horses beyond our yard.

We're sure the ponies missing you as much as you're missing them, but they do seem very happy to be having a nice break to eat lots of tasty grass (though perhaps a little confused with this change of routine.)

⚠️ Important post ⚠️

Unfortunately, one of our ponies has tested positive for the Strangles Virus. This pony has been isolated and at the moment all other ponies are fine and are being monitored.

This is of course a very serious virius and we have gone into lockdown to keep the infection contained and are working with the vet to put a plan into action going forward.

This does mean that all lesson and rides are cancelled for this weekend.

Please bare with us as and thank you for your understanding
