Using sound buttons helps children identify the sounds in words and link them to the letters and letter patterns that represent those sounds, supporting both reading and spelling development.

Today we explored the phoneme “ue”! 🎉
We practiced hearing, reading, and writing words with the “ue” sound such as blue, glue, and true. We enjoyed sounding out the words, spotting patterns, and using them in sentences. ✏️📚

We used marshmallows and sticks to build models of atoms and molecules. The marshmallows represented the atoms, while the sticks showed the bonds between them. We also created a model of a salt crystal, which is called an ionic lattice. This helped us understand how atoms are arranged and connected in different structures.

We enjoy using play doh to segment and blend sounds in our lesson. The dots and dashes make abstract sounds concrete.
First we made the sound buttons, then we squished the individual sounds before we squashed everything together to blend the sounds and say the words.
