HOW AMAZING IS THIS …

Being a committee led preschool, making a profit is never on the agenda. The children are always at the forefront of every decision made ❤️

Before I left, the committee asked if there was anything I felt the children needed. So the staff team thought hard, and we decided the children would really benefit from a new climbing frame and outside instruments…. And that’s exactly what they got!!

I literally can’t wait to hear how much the preschool children enjoy their new climbing frame 💖

Thank you so much to Active Garden …. You were amazing from start to finish!! If anyone wants a climbing frame built … I would highly recommend!!!

Our final week together 🥰😭 as always, we like to make it as fun as possible!
The children had a bouncy castle on Tuesday AND Wednesday… they loved flying down the slide as fast as possible 🤣
Tuesday we also had lots of fun in the water sprinkler to cool down and we were gifted a real popcorn machine for the day 🍿… the children loved watching it pop!
We then topped it off on Wednesday by hiring an icecream van 🍦… the children loved ordering what they wanted and enjoyed listening to the music of the van 🤣 we had party food for lunch and games after!
Now for the emotional rollercoaster that will be our sports day and graduation on Friday 😭😭😭 … I will be the snotty, crying mess in the corner 😭😭

Dear parents, I’m afraid I need to cancel stay and play on Monday (11th July) 😭😭😭 due to a sickness bug which has been making its way round the setting. Please pass on the message to anyone you know who normally attends!

I will be excited to reopen stay and play for the last time on Monday 18th July!!!! This will be my last ever one so will enjoy seeing you all then ❤️🥳 let’s make it a good’un 🌈

I am so excited to introduce to you our new PRESCHOOL MANAGER 🎉🎉🎉

Ellie will be taking over as manager, starting September 2022 and I assure you, you are all in good hands.
Ellie has a BA honours in initial primary teacher education, as well as being a qualified yoga and french teacher. Ellie has been manager of a large day nursery in Worcester for the last 6 years, where she gained Ofsted outstanding for them in 2019.
Ellie will be shadowing me every Friday, from next week, to ensure a smooth transition for you and your children. Ellie is also our yoga and French teacher on Wednesdays ... so the children will get to know her then as well.
We are going to organise a ‘meet and greet’ session for current and new/prospective parents in the next few weeks. This will be a great chance for you all meet Ellie, ask any questions and get to know her before September.
A massive well done to Ellie 👏🏻 We are very excited to welcome you into the team 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Don’t forget it’s JUBILEE DAY TODAY 🇬🇧🇬🇧 … 12-4pm on the village green! Lots of stalls, competitions, cakes and a dog show! Myself and some of the team will be there making crowns with the children 👑 Bring a picnic or enjoy a hog roast 😋 We would love to see you all there 👑

We have had a fantastic week full of jubilee celebrations 🇬🇧 the children have enjoyed biscuit making, painting flags, making a ‘Queenscrow’, decorating crowns, lots of sensory play, loved yoga with our new yoga teacher, and finally a jubilee tea party (we also learnt to sing the national anthem) …. All under the watchful eye Queen Elizabeth 👸🏻 what a week it’s been 😅
We hope all our families enjoy a fabulous half term ❤️

Having to share my ‘queen’ status today … 👸🏻 The queen has had the best day in preschool today … we will look forward to sharing more pictures of what she has got up too 😍

Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting Ralph the tortoise 🐢 he was so cute! We learnt that his favourite food is dandelions and lettuce 🥬 he sleeps under a heat lamp and enjoys being carried around the house by his owner Poppy ❤️ thank you so much to Sophie and Poppy for bringing Ralph in to see us

A letter from the Committee Chair

Dear Parents & Guardians

It is with mixed feelings that I write this letter. As some of you may now know, Naomi has decided to move on from her role as Preschool Manager to take up an opportunity to progress her flourishing career in preschool/nursery management. It is sad to see her go, and Preschool will forever be indebted to her for the amazing work that she has put in over the last few years to build Preschool into what it is today. Under the management of Naomi, Preschool has moved to a 5 day a week offering with optional wrap around care, the numbers are so healthy that there is now a waiting list for places, she has implemented new technology to bring parents closer to preschool and to have real-time visibility as to their child’s progress, she has managed the setting in such a way that we haven’t had to make any significant price increases yet at the same time Preschool has turned a financial surplus which has allowed us to invest in technology and equipment, she has achieved Ofsted Outstanding status and won the EYFS Setting of the Year in the Worcester News Awards, and above all else created an environment that is as happy for the staff and parents as it is for the children. That is quite a legacy to leave Preschool with. I’m personally sad to see Naomi go but I am also delighted for her to have the opportunity to progress her career and I know she will excel in her new role.

In addition to Naomi leaving there is also a vacancy for the Volunteer role of Preschool Chairperson. I have been in this role since 2013 and have seen many changes to Preschool. When I took over the role my eldest son was at Preschool and my youngest son was just 2 years old, they’re now in year 8 (senior) and year 5 (primary). I’ve had no children in Preschool for the last 6 years but have stayed on in the role to continue the work we set out to achieve. When I started Preschool was open 2.5 days a week and that was it. It was making large financial losses and the number of children attending were reducing year by year. So, after almost 10 years in the role, I feel that I leave Preschool in a much stronger position than when I started.

This therefore means that we are asking for volunteers to come forward to take on the role of Preschool Chairperson. This is a volunteer role, and the main responsibility is to oversee the management of Preschool. The day-to-day and even week-to-week responsibilities are looked after by the manager and staff and so the Chair role is to ensure that they have sound business governance from a financial perspective and to work with the Manager to ensure the Team and Preschool have what they need to continue to deliver the level of service that they do now.
