American International School of Libreville

American International School of Libreville AISL accepts the responsibility in partnership with parents and community members to prepare and guide children to be successful citizens of the world.

In 1976, the U.S. Ambassador to Gabon requested that the Gabonese government allow the establishment of the American International School of Libreville (AISL). The school would operate under the sponsorship of the United States Embassy, Libreville. AISL, like other American Overseas Schools, was initially established to offer educational opportunities to children of the U.S. Embassy staff. Since t

hat time, the school has been in many interesting locations, one being in the Ambassador's garage. Today, over 25 nationalities are represented in our school community. AISL continues to provide an excellent American-style education aligned with benchmarks and curriculum standards and by using technology as the main tool of instruction. AISL is commited to maintaining our accreditation awarded by Middle States Association of Colleges & Schools by hiring certified and qualified educators that are firmly committed to maintaining the highest quality instruction in all areas. We concentrate on professional development for all AISL educators and administrators.
