Caldas da Rainha has started with 55 teachers, 7 nationalities and one very lively first step into an international learning week.
Participants from Romania, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, France and Serbia began their Edu2Grow experience by meeting each other before meeting the course content.
Our intercultural speed dating quickly moved beyond names and countries. Teachers talked about food and drinks, traditions they bring into extracurricular activities, UNESCO heritage, their schools, the moments that made them proud to be teachers and, with a little more honesty, the decisions of their Ministries of Education they would happily change.
For some participants, this was the first time they had ever sat down and talked with a teacher from another country. A few minutes later, they were already comparing classrooms, educational systems, challenges and ideas.
This is where the soul of Erasmus+ becomes visible: people who might never have met otherwise sitting at the same table, discovering how much they have in common, learning from their differences and slowly becoming a group.
And this was only the beginning of getting to know each other.
During this training week in Caldas da Rainha, 55 teachers are taking part in 5 different courses, guided by an international Edu2Grow team of 3 Portuguese trainers, 1 Romanian trainer and 1 Ukrainian trainer.
Different countries, different schools, plenty to talk about. Now the real exchange begins.
