Instead of giving your children the answers to questions, you can stimulate their natural curiosity and problem-solving skills by using the "wonder" approach. Our character "Winny Wonder" also leads children through this problem.

We should let our children try to succeed - set challenges but give them room to try overcome the challenges by themselves first. They are so capable of so much more than what you might think, and this will help them build confidence, problem-solving skills and very importantly, resilience!

ThinkWise develops:

* Science skills - questioning, observation, hypothesising comparison, analysis.
* Maths skills - focusing on detail, problem solving,

All these are vital in a rapidly changing, AI driven world!

🌱 Mindset Monday

What if the most important thing we teach our children isn't the answer... but how to think?

The world our children will inherit is changing faster than ever before. Many of the careers they will have don't even exist yet. Facts can be searched in seconds, but curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and good judgement are skills that last a lifetime.

Our role as parents and teachers is not to provide every answer, but to nurture that curiosity by encouraging children to observe carefully, ask thoughtful questions, make connections, explore different possibilities and reflect on what they have learned.

This week, try one simple challenge at home:

💬 When your child asks a question, resist the urge to answer immediately. Instead, ask:

"What do you think?"

You might be surprised by the wonderful ideas they already have. Every great invention, every scientific discovery and every creative breakthrough began with someone who was willing to wonder.

We created songs for each of our ThinkWise characters to help children understand their special thinking superpowers.

Here is Ben Pretend. He pretends to be someone else to try and understand them better. He wants to know what they might be feeling and thinking. Ben helps children to develop empathy. This is a very important skill.

Did you know that empathy is the first step in the Stanford University's Design Thinking process? To be an innovator and entrepreneur, the first step is understand people's needs and problems!

🧠 THINKING TOGETHER THURSDAY! 💜

Wonder Wednesday
Why do zebras have stripes? 🦓

What do you do when your child asks a question you don't know the answer to? Do you immediately reach for Google? Or do you wonder together first?

At ThinkWise, one of our favourite characters is Winny Wonder, who reminds children that some of the best learning begins with three simple words:

"I wonder why..."

Children are naturally curious.

They ask hundreds of questions every day—not because they want facts, but because they are trying to make sense of the world around them. As adults, we sometimes rush to answer.

But what if, instead, we paused and asked:

💭 What do you see? (Let them describe the details)

💭 What do you think about it? What could it be?

💭 What are your questions? What do you wonder? How can we find out more about it?

Those simple questions encourage children to:
✨ Think independently.
✨ Make predictions.
✨ Explore different possibilities.
✨ Develop confidence in their own ideas.

Whether you're reading a story, watching a bird outside the window, or wondering why zebras have stripes, every question is an opportunity to grow a young mind. By letting them first notice the detail, then say what they are thinking out loud and then asking the questions they are wondering about, we lead them into deeper thinking.

Because the goal isn't to have all the answers... It's to raise children who love asking great questions.
