🪂 National Airborne Day 🪂

Today, we honor America's airborne forces, the Soldiers who jump from the sky to bring the fight to the enemy and defend our freedom.

On Aug. 16, 1940, the U.S. Army conducted its first official parachute jump at Lawson Field, Georgia, proving that troops and equipment could be inserted behind enemy lines by air. That single jump laid the foundation for a capability that has shaped airborne operations for more than 80 years, from World War II combat jumps to today's rapid deployment missions.

In 2002, National Airborne Day was officially established to recognize the courage, skill, and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in airborne units. Airborne all the way! 🇺🇸

🔴⚪🔵 Happy 250th Birthday, America 🔴⚪🔵

For 250 years, America has been carried forward by ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things in service to something greater than themselves.

Today, we celebrate the generations of Soldiers, Army families, veterans, and civilians whose courage, sacrifice, and devotion have shaped our nation and strengthened our communities.

We honor those who came before us, those who serve today, and those who will answer the call tomorrow.
