What really changes after working with 100+ movers and teachers experiencing impostor syndrome?

Confidence doesn’t suddenly appear when we finally feel “ready.”

It grows every time we study, condition our body, refine our technique—and dare to show up while we are still learning.

In this combination, I blend yoga, core conditioning, floor barre, contemporary and modern dance. The more we inhabit our body, the more we learn to understand it, trust it—and trust ourselves.

Of course, confidence also requires courage: the courage to begin before we feel completely prepared, to make mistakes, and to let practice transform us.

Mastery is not a destination. It is the work of a lifetime.

Keep learning. Keep moving. Keep daring.
Your confidence is already growing through every action you take. ✨

Have you noticed what changes in your body when you feel HAPPY… versus SAD? ☀️🌙

Before reading my answers, tell me yours below. 👇

☀️ HAPPINESS feels solar.
Faster. Bouncier. Lighter. Outgoing.
Energy rises and projects outward. Movements become bigger, the heart and face open, even the corners of the lips travel upward. There can be accelerations and little explosions of joy.

🌙 SADNESS feels more lunar.
Slower. Heavier. Inward.
Energy travels down. Movements become smaller, softer, more contained. The body takes less space and turns toward itself.

And here’s what I find fascinating:

Emotion can change movement—but movement can also change emotion.

Start with happiness and observe how your body responds. Or start with an upward, expansive, bouncy movement quality and notice what happens to your mood.

Same sequence. Same dancing Sun Salutation. **A completely different story. One theme. 1000 variations. **

Our movement practice can become a place where we express something about ourselves—not just repeat shapes. So yes, dare to embody your emotions in practices and accept the diversity of flavors in life.

And thank you, Sara, my wonderful friend, Yoga Dance Air® Teacher Training participant, colleague and beautiful performer. Your musicality and expressivity are exquisite. I love sharing these moments of creativity with you. ❤️

What if your yoga didn’t have to look peaceful all the time? 🔥🌧️

Yoga can bring us serenity—but it can also give us a space to feel what is really there at times. Do you allow yourself to go there?

Anger. Sadness. Frustration. Grief. Power. Vulnerability.

Maybe we don’t always need to be in a perfectly positive mood. Life has its ups and downs—and allowing ourselves to fully experience the downs can make us appreciate the ups even more. ❤️

Coming from dance theater and expressive dance, I love letting emotion become part of the movement, rather than separating it from the practice. Paradoxically, a certain amount of vulnerability has always been a strength to me… developing resilience.

🔥 ANGER
Tension. Contraction. Explosivity. Speed. Power.
The muscles engage, the hands become sharp, the gaze direct and penetrating, the breath stronger and more percussive. The whole body says: GO. EXPLODE.

🌧️ SADNESS
Weight. Softness. Melting. Slowness.
The body takes less space. Opening and rising feel harder. Everything turns inward, as if the body wants to curl into a shell and cocoon itself. The body says: STAY INSIDE.

Same body. Same yoga poses.
Completely different movement qualities.

Yoga doesn’t always have to erase what we feel to bring us back to peace.

Sometimes the practice can simply give our emotions a body, a breath, and permission to exist.

Which one would you explore today: 🔥 anger or 🌧️ sadness?

Why does some fusion feel organic… while other fusion feels like a patchwork?

After almost 30 years of exploring different movement languages, here are 5 principles I use to create organic fusion:

1. Study the languages separately first.
Understand their foundations, qualities and intentions before blending them.

2. Start from the body, not only from the concept.
I used to sometimes assemble styles intellectually. The idea could be interesting… but my body told me when it didn’t feel organic.

3. Improvise before you assemble.
Explore. Mix. Play. Even when I have technical content I want to reach, I let myself grow into it rather than forcing it.

4. Pay attention to transitions.
The magic isn’t only in WHAT you combine, but how you travel from one language into another.

5. Keep what feels coherent.
You don’t need to demonstrate everything you know. Keep what genuinely belongs.

✨ Fusion happens when different movement languages stop looking separate and begin speaking with one voice.

One body. Many languages. One unique voice.

What disciplines are YOU exploring or dreaming of fusing?
