Après des années de vie en France, c’est quelque chose que je constate de plus en plus : la société ici est très matérialiste et le statut social prend énormément de place. On te regarde souvent à travers ton métier, ton niveau de vie, ta voiture ou ton compte en banque, avant même de regarder qui tu es vraiment.

France 🇫🇷 : « Tu fais quoi dans la vie ? »
Traduction : « Tu gagnes combien ? » 😂

Pologne 🇵🇱 : « T’es sympa ? Viens, on est amis. » 😂 J’ai le sentiment que les relations sont plus simples. Tu peux être ami avec quelqu’un, peu importe son métier, son salaire ou son statut social.

Je ne dis pas que c’est partout ni que c’est propre à la France, mais c’est clairement une différence que je ressens par rapport à la Pologne.

Au fond, la valeur d’une personne ne devrait jamais se mesurer à ce qu’elle possède. Moi je propose qu’on arrête de se battre entre riches et moins riches et qu’on commence par se battre pour le dessert (meme si je n’en mange pas).🥂 Malgré tout ça, j’aime toujours la France. 🇫🇷

This is a question many students ask me.

EXPOSURE to authentic English is one of the most important factors in language learning and a strong predictor of fluency. Frequent and meaningful contact with the language helps learners build their skills, gain confidence and communicate more effectively.

Learning a language isn’t just about studying grammar and vocabulary for years. SPEAKING is also an important skill and it needs to be trained. If you don’t practice speaking, you don’t develop that ability. If you don’t regularly practice expressing your ideas, fluency will be much harder to achieve.

Another important element is CURIOSITY. Students who progress often have a habit of exploring the language: checking new words in a dictionary, noticing important expressions, exploring the culture behind the language and asking themselves why native speakers use specific words or phrases in a certain way.

Talent and NATURAL ABILITIES can also play a role. Some people have natural advantages: a good memory, a good ear for sounds or an easier ability to imitate pronunciation. A language requires you to remember thousands of words, expressions, sounds and patterns. The more you can store and recall, the easier it becomes to speak naturally.

In the end, fluency comes from a combination of exposure, speaking practice, curiosity, a good memory, and the courage to use the language often. A language is not something you simply learn — it is something you train and use regularly.

One afternoon, I had the distinct pleasure of retreating to an enchanting English tearoom for the timeless ritual of afternoon tea - an experience that epitomises elegance, refinement and quiet indulgence.

An exquisite assortment of warm, freshly baked scones accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry preserve, delicately crafted finger sandwiches, dainty pâtisserie and an exceptional selection of loose-leaf teas was served with impeccable attention to detail.

The cosy atmosphere, timeless decor and quintessentially British charm transformed an ordinary afternoon into an extraordinary and truly memorable experience. It was a wonderful reminder that some of life’s greatest pleasures are found in the simplest traditions.
