Bien que l’ambiance de l’atelier est chaleureuse et conviviale, le travail est exigeant. Les participants seront fournis avec les matériaux nécessaires pour une bonne progression. Venez avec une bonne volonté et une passion pour la musique et la voix. Les ateliers sont petites de sorte que je vous demande, si vous optez d’assister aux ateliers, de me donner un avis suffisant si vous souhaitez l’ annuler. Would you like to learn the ins and outs of jazz, that mysterious yet haunting music that seemingly defies the rules? Would you like to learn about improvisation, how it is done? Would you like to better understand your voice and discover its possibilities? Would you like to understand harmony and rhythm? Would you like to sing in a group? Join us for these weekly sessions in jazz singing. We will explore not only the music but also the voice.

The atmosphere is friendly and non-threatening. Students will be provided with practice materials, so there are no excuses for not learning a song! Come with a willingness to try and a passion for the music. The classes are small so I depend on you to attend if you opt-in for a course and to give adequate notice if you would like to cancel. Per gli appassionati di jazz, una settimana di lavoro con l’opportunità di lavorare con strumentisti jazz professionisti. Questo corso è rivolto a persone che sanno cantare uno standard e vogliono approfondire la loro comprensione e conoscenza del jazz. Ogni giornata inizierà con il riscaldamento vocale, il lavoro sulla respirazione, la consapevolezza del corpo intorno alla danza ed esercizi ludici di armonia e ritmo. Questo lavoro vi aiuterà a sviluppare il vostro vocabolario ritmico e melodico e a capire i requisiti per lavorare con i musicisti. Studiate la griglia di due standard – ballad e uptempo – e improvvisate su di essi.
La scelta del repertorio deve essere fatta prima dell’inizio del corso. (Se avete bisogno di aiuto nella scelta o nella ricerca della chiave, potete contattare direttamente Gwen Sampé).

For jazz enthusiasts, a week’s work with the opportunity to work with professional jazz instrumentalists. This course is aimed at people who can sing a standard and want to deepen their understanding and knowledge of jazz. Each day will begin with vocal warm-ups, breathing work, body awareness around dance and playful exercises in harmony and rhythm. This work will help you develop your rhythmic and melodic vocabulary and understand the requirements for working with musicians. Study the grid of two standards – ballad and uptempo – and improvise on them.
The choice of repertoire must be made before the start of the course. (If you need help choosing or finding your key, you can contact Gwen Sampé directly).
