I am a huge fan of rhymes. My students love this goodbye song, sung to the tune of 'oh my darling clementine'. There are many many versions of this that you can find on the net.
Which goodbye song do you use in your classroom?
See you later alligator
After a while crocodile
In an hour sunflower
Maybe two kangaroo
Got to go buffalo
Better swish jellyfish
Chop, chop lollipop
Got to run skeleton
Bye bye butterfly
Better shake rattlesnake
Give a hug ladybug
Take care polar bear
Our time together now ends
So goodbye good friends!

In Paris most kids go back to school on the 1st of September. Something that I like to use for all types of revisions, working on asking questions etc are fortune tellers. You can google hundreds of ideas or just come up with one of your own. Below is a great one for working on the weather (as it is quite unpredicatble at the moment I thought it would be a good one to share).
Do you have any favourite topics for fortune tellers?

Guess How Much I love You is an award winning book and has been translated into numerous languages. The story is about a little bunny rabbit and his father. They tell each other how much they love each other using larger and larger measures to quantify how much they love each other. It is simple and gripping. An enjoyable evening read!
Have you told your family how much you love them today?

Use this lockdown to play lots of board games, in English if course. There are a number of different ways that you can use Battleship to teach both grammar a vocabulary, I will be posting a separate post on that. But if you have the actual game at home it's a great way to practise the alphabet and numbers.
Tonight my partner and kids played in Swedish.

Flashcards are my best friends. There are so many ways of using them. At the moment I use them for the children to create "connect 4"
You place twenty flashcards face down on the table, the children get to chose one at a time, if they can say the sentence/word connected to the card they can turn it around. The continue until they have four in a row

Noughts and crosses is a simple game that requires no preparation that you can use for all levels. For the little ones you ask them to simply name the picture that you draw in each section of the grid.
For the older ones you can ask them to describe the picture in each section of the grid
And finally for the older ones you can adl them to use different grammar points, conjugate verbs etc
Do you have any other ideas of how you can use noughts and crosses?
