Anglophone Section parents and teachers came together last night for the annual St. Patrick’s day celebration and pub quiz. The parents competed in teams to answer literature and history questions based on what students are studying in the Etudes Anglophones and Anglais Avancé programs.

The students of the STEP program celebrated the start of the holiday by coming together in the auditorium for a time of joyful entertainment yesterday, December 18. The different classes took turns performing songs and skits for each other, and then everyone sang Christmas-carol karaoke together. Happy holidays, everybody!

At the end of November, twenty-seven students competed in La Tour’s “Poetry by Heart" competition. Each student recited a poem in English that they had learned by heart. They were evaluated on their Voice, Understanding, Performance and Accuracy.
Three winners were selected from Lycee and three from Collège to represent the school at the Poetry by Heart France competition in the spring.
Winners for Lycee: Lélia Haddad, Margaux Ombredanne (1ère4), Charlotte Lamarche (1ère5).
Winners for Collège: Arthur Piligian (4e4), Keylan Ganem (5e4), Jehane Regnard (6e4)
Congratulations to the winners and to all the students who took part in the competition! And thank you to the organizer, Ms. Kaspereit, for her continuing dedication to this activity.

The Anglophone Section Dictation is an annual tradition which takes place at the Journée de l'Amité, in the convivial setting of an Irish Pub set up and staffed by the Anglophone Section PTA.
People of all ages compete to write down the challenging dictation, which is in English and becomes increasingly difficult as it goes on. Prizes are awarded in different age categories, with the adult category divided into bilingual and non-bilingual. After the prizes were awarded, everyone went out to the courtyard to sing Christmas carols in English.
Congratulations to all the parents and students who competed and thanks you to the teachers who read the dictation and corrected the answers. And (once again!) a big thanks to our dedicated PTA for providing a wonderful pub experience.

Last night, Anglophone Section families and teachers gathered at La Tour to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Following a speech by Head of Section Mr. Slade, 4eme students read aloud Haikus about gratitude written by students in 4EA and 4AA and a traditional Native American Prayer. (In 4eme, both the Anglophone Studies and Advanced English programs focus on U. S. History and Literature.)
Thank you to everyone who brought food for the Thanksgiving meal, and a big shout-out to our generous PTA for providing the refreshments and the decorations!

Some photos from Monday evening, when Anglophone Section teachers presented the 6eme and 2nde programs to parents. This was followed by a reception at which parents of new students at all levels could meet the teachers of the Anglophone Section.
A big thank-you to PTA Head Beata Habra and other PTA parents for provided and serving the refreshments.
