Last day! Today we visited the Louvre, Sainte Chapelle, and the Galeries Lafayette for some last minute shopping. We finished our day with a Seine river dinner cruise. Tomorrow we fly home. We want to say thank you to everyone who has supported the kids in this opportunity to experience the French language and culture for the past two weeks. See you soon, USA!

Not a lot on the agenda today, but the kids enjoyed themselves nonetheless. We spent most of the day at Versailles; visiting the palace, gardens, and some even saw the Queen’s hamlet. To end the day, we truly braved the storm at the Eiffel Tower. The rain didn’t stop us from enjoying the view!

Quelle journée! Today we started at Notre Dame, where we were able to go inside the cathedral after it has been closed for 6 years due to the fire. Afterwards, we went down into the Catacombes. Lunch was in the jardin du Luxembourg, where we enjoyed the sun. Next, we went to the iconic Musée d’Orsay to see the Impressionist art. To finish the day, we went shopping and had dinner on the Champs-Élysées, and we saw the Arc de Triomphe!

Talk about a long day! This morning we said “au revoir” to our French families in Lyon and “bonjour” to Paris! Students experiences the TGV, the metro, Montmartre, Sacré-Cœur, and the “I love you” wall. For dinner we ate at a crêperie.

Today we went to the Confluence museum with no intention of going inside…. Only to visit the OnlyLyon sign and to put our feet into the actual confluence (where two rivers meet - the Rhône and the Saône). Afterwards, we visited the Confluence mall. To end the day, we went on a low ropes course that included ziplining!

Having so much fun we forgot to post! Wednesday we took a short cooking class and went to Parc de la Tête d’Or. Today we explored La Croix Rousse and had a guided tour of Fourvière basilica as well as Vieux Lyon.

Today’s adventure took us to Lake Annecy, where we spent time eating, shopping, swimming, and paddle boating! Some kids even chose to do a lake boat tour. What a great day in the sun!

After a weekend “en famille”, the students got to observe and participate in another class at the middle school. We had a picnic lunch, took some pictures at the Place des Terreaux, and then joined another class for a “promenade gallo-romaine”. Here they learned all about the roman ruins throughout Lyon.

A great day in Lyon in the books! We took our students on a mini “boulangerie crawl” around Vieux Lyon to sample different pastries and treats native to France and Lyon. They also got to visit the high school and middle school. The icing on the cake was eating in the school cafeteria and being a part of an English class!

Everyone has been safely delivered to their host families for their first days in Lyon. We will send another update tomorrow after our first group outing. A demain!
