Dear Parents - and students too -
A heartfelt THANK YOU to each of you for a wonderful trip in the books! I've received several "thank you" messages and emails, which mean so much - but it is really your kids who make the trip as great as it is! We had SO many memories and laughs - scavenger hunts, card games, silly contests, crazy metro rides, late night games, beautiful sights, language learning, and SO much more. Perhaps one of the things that has stuck with me the most is a comment made by a student at the airport once we arrived home.
He said:
"10 days, yeah, I was ready to come home and see my friends...well, my BEST friends, because, you know, now I have a whole new group of people I call friends. You feel me, bro?"
Wow - what a great moment to hear that students have connected with others who they made never have met or talked to outside of this trip! It was evident that new, lifelong friendships were made and I love your students for being open and accepting one another and creating friendships and connections with them.
I am thankful to you, as parents, for supporting this trip and your students - I got to experience first hand their eyes opening to a new, bigger world than what they have at BHS, and I am hopeful that in the coming days, weeks, and months, you will see a positive change in your students!
From all of the chaperones - please know what a pleasure your students were, and how much we enjoyed each minute with them! Merci Mille Fois!
