A little advice can go a long way when you’re starting something new.

Letters to the Next is also about what happens after you’ve found your way: sharing what you’ve learned and helping the next class feel a little more at home from the start. 💌

17/09/2026

What advice would you give to the next class? 💌

Letters to the Next, a student-led initiative started by AUP alumna Arianna Williams ’26, gives AUP students the chance to share advice, encouragement, and lessons learned with incoming students.

📚 We are pleased to welcome writer, editor, and educator ZZ Packer as our 2026 Writer in Residence, in partnership with the Centre Culturel Irlandais.

Author of “Drinking Coffee Elsewhere” and currently working on her forthcoming novel “The Thousands,” Packer brings a celebrated literary career and a deep interest in questions of place, identity, history, and belonging.

During her residency, she’ll develop her work in Paris while connecting with AUP students, faculty, and the wider literary community.

We can't wait to see how Paris shapes her next chapter. Drop a welcome in the comments! 👇

A new academic year, a new class, and a whole lot of AUP spirit 💙

We loved welcoming our newest degree-seeking students at this year’s First-Year Success Welcome Fair! With a musical fanfare, activities, and plenty of opportunities to connect, it was the perfect way to kick off the semester.

Here’s to new beginnings, new friends, and plenty of Paris adventures ahead.

For over 60 years, the start of fall at AUP has looked a lot like this: a fresh batch of students settling into the 7th arrondissement, making new friends, studying their maps, and hunting for a good espresso.

Orientation week is almost here, so we dug into the archives. Swipe through to see how the fashion and hairstyles have changed since 1962. The excitement of arriving in Paris? Exactly the same.

Alumni, what year did you move to Paris? Drop your year below and say hi to the incoming class. 👇
