🔷 Sciences Po students Marius Guerin and Tom Krauthausen join Paola Subacchi to discuss what the G20 should prioritise as the United Kingdom prepares to take the chair in 2026. Drawing on their final projects for Paola’s course on managing sovereign debt, Marius and Tom bring fresh perspectives to the question of whether policymakers should focus on fixing debt crises once they erupt, or on preventing them before they begin.

👤 Paola Subacchi is Professor and Chair in Sovereign Debt and Finance at Sciences Po, and Professor of Political Economy of Europe at the University of Bologna. She is also a partner at Essential Economics, a London-based consultancy that advises governments, international organisations, and private companies.

👤 Tom Krauthausen is a master’s student at Sciences Po and the Stockholm School of Economics, specializing in International Economic Policy and Finance. His professional experience includes internships at the Boston Consulting Group and KfW Development Bank. Marius Guérin is a Sciences Po master’s graduate, now working as a Junior Policy Analyst in the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate. His previous experience includes internships in government and the private sector.

Think you’re a fit? You’ll need to:
✔️ Be a PSIA Alumnus
✔️ Have at least 3–4 years of professional experience
✔️ Be in full-time employment or self-employed for at least the past 3 years

As a mentor, you’ll guide M2 PSIA students through their S3 hors les murs experience (mandatory internship, Master’s thesis, or exchange) and throughout their S4. You’ll help them make the leap from student life to the professional world post-Master’s.

🎙️Episode 17. “Global debt in a higher debt world” of DebtTalks, the podcast series of the SciencesPo Chair in Sovereign Debt and Finance, is now LIVE!

🔹Global debt is entering a more expensive and uncertain phase. Drawing on the OECD Global Debt Report 2026, Paola Subacchi talks to Nicolas Pinaud about the outlook for sovereign and corporate debt, rising refinancing risks, and the growing burden of debt-servicing costs. They discuss how higher interest rates, inflation, tighter monetary policy, and geopolitical tensions are reshaping debt markets, especially for low-income countries. The conversation also explores the legacy of quantitative easing, the changing investor base in corporate bond markets, shorter maturities, and the role of EU bonds in strengthening Europe’s capital markets.

👤Nicolas Pinaud is Deputy-Director, OECD Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs. He is an experienced Advisor with a demonstrated history of working on domestic, international and multilateral economic affairs for more than 15 years at government level and in an international organisation (the OECD).

🔴 PSIA Event | What Next for the Fight Against the Financing of Terrorism?

💸 Join us at PSIA for a side event to the 5th “No Money for Terror” Ministerial Conference. Since its launch in Paris in 2018, the NMFT conference has taken place in Melbourne, New Delhi, and Munich, and is returning to France for a ministerial session on 19 May 2026. The evening before, PSIA at Sciences Po will host an expert panel on the future of the fight against terrorism financing, amid shifts in both the threat and technology landscape. Speakers will explore the financial tradecraft of terrorist groups, the risks of evolving financial technologies, and the importance of international cooperation. Bringing together policymakers, the private sector, and academia, the panel reflects the full diversity of stakeholders in countering the financing of terrorism.

The event will be opened by Olivier Caron, French Special Envoy for Terrorism and Organised Crime, and closed by Claire Cheremetinski, Deputy Head, French Treasury.

The panel discussion will feature:
