Farm animals lapbook for the little ones ...
Your go-to destination for ESL teaching techniques especially designed for preschool children.
Teaching English to children can be challenging and stressful at times. Discipline issues, researching material, creating plans, creating materials, preparing activities, coming up with classroom management strategies, encourage good behavior and motivation, evaluating, testing, conferences, parents meetings, and the list is far from finished. With all this on our mind, we try to keep the lessons

Farm animals lapbook for the little ones ...

Every year I do a book project with my groups. We not only read it in class but the parents get a copy with a CD to listen to while going through the book with their children at home and do activities together in connection to the book.
These are page markers I made for the little ones that I gave with every book.
A project that is always appreciated by the children and their parents as it gives them time to connect with each other in the busy world, create memories and have something to talk about.

I finally got to record the audio on the assessment of ESL preschoolers. I'm sorry for being late and also for my voice but I've been sick for over a week now and just slowly getting back on my feet. So any bugging is of course due to that 😉 ❤

A piece of advice I give to all my trainees .. no matter if you are a teacher or working in a different field.
Whatever you do, wherever you are ... get testimonials for your work - even if you may not need them right now!
You never know what the future holds and if / when you may need them. And better to have some up your sleeve than later wishing you had taken them.
If you are a freelance teacher, ask the parents of the kids to write you testimonials. If the kids are older ask the kids themselves to write them (or record if audio/video format).
If you work for a school, do the same plus ask the current school to write you one or a letter of recommendation.
Then keep them all in a save place (on a cloud plus external harddrive plus an actual physcial folder if needed to not lose them over the years), together with the name, age, and which year and maybe also for long you have been teaching them.
I have used testimonials for a website when I had my own little center, social media .. I would slide them into job applications ... they can come in handy in so many places...
Don't underestimate the power of testimonials!

FINGER RHYME TIME: Five little peas
Five little peas in a pea pod pressed
one grew, two grew (stretch the thumb and index finger in the air)
and so did all the rest. (stretch all your fingers in the air)
They grew and grew (stretch your arms high up in the air)
till they could not stop,
until they that pod went ... POP! (clap loudly with your hands)
I was asked to do a short training on assessment in ESL preschool classes.
Would you like me to share it?
