La saison estivale 2026 s’achève à la Maison Nicéphore Niépce 📸🏡

La Maison Nicéphore Niépce ferme ses portes au public à compter de ce lundi 24 août. Cette année, la saison estivale s’achève exceptionnellement un peu plus tôt que prévu.

🙏 Un grand merci à toutes celles et ceux qui sont venus découvrir la maison où Nicéphore Niépce inventa la photographie, à Saint-Loup-de-Varennes. Nous avons été très heureux de vous accueillir tout au long de cet été !

📅 Prochain rendez-vous : les Journées européennes du patrimoine, les 19 et 20 septembre 2026, avec des visites guidées organisées de 14h à 18h.

La Maison refermera ensuite ses portes jusqu’à sa prochaine ouverture estivale en 2027.

Merci à toutes et à tous pour cette belle saison et rendez-vous en septembre ! 📸

The 2026 summer season comes to an end at the Niépce House 📸🏡

The Niépce House is closing its doors to the public from Monday, August 24. This year, the summer season is exceptionally ending a little earlier than planned.

🙏 A big thank you to everyone who came to discover the house where Nicéphore Niépce invented photography, in Saint-Loup-de-Varennes. It was a pleasure to welcome you throughout the summer!

📅 Our next event: the European Heritage Days, on September 19 and 20, 2026, with guided tours from 2 pm to 6 pm.

The Niépce House will then close its doors until its next summer opening in 2027.

Thank you all for this wonderful season, and see you again in September! 📸

Modules Experts - Samantha Millar-Hoppe 🇫🇷📚📸

Dans le cadre des Modules Experts, Spéos a eu le plaisir d’accueillir Samantha Millar-Hoppe, éditrice, fondatrice et directrice de la maison d’édition indépendante Rue du Bouquet, spécialisée dans les livres de photographie.

Créée en 2016, Rue du Bouquet développe ses ouvrages en étroite collaboration avec photographes, graphistes et auteurs, avec une attention particulière portée à la manière dont un travail photographique prend forme à travers le livre.

À Spéos, Samantha Millar-Hoppe a partagé avec les étudiants son regard d’éditrice sur la photographie et le livre photographique, notamment à travers l’observation et la manipulation de tirages. L’occasion d’aborder le passage d’une série d’images à un projet éditorial et de découvrir le travail qui accompagne la construction d’un livre de photographie.

As part of the Expert Modules, Spéos was pleased to welcome Samantha Millar-Hoppe, publisher, founder and director of Rue du Bouquet, an independent publishing house dedicated to photography books.

Founded in 2016, Rue du Bouquet develops its publications in close collaboration with photographers, graphic designers and authors, with particular attention to the way photographic work takes shape through the book.

At Spéos, Samantha Millar-Hoppe shared her perspective as a publisher on photography and photobooks, notably through the observation and handling of photographic prints. The session offered students an insight into the transition from a series of images to an editorial project and the process involved in creating a photography book.

Interview d’étudiant – Elias Leridon 🎙️📸🇫🇷

Diplômé du Bachelor intensif en 1 an – Photographe Entrepreneur, Elias Leridon revient sur son parcours à Spéos et sur cette année consacrée à professionnaliser sa pratique de la photographie.

Après un Bachelor au Canada puis un Master en école de commerce, Elias souhaitait donner une nouvelle dimension à une pratique photographique déjà bien présente : « Je savais que je voulais professionnaliser mon parcours en photographie. »

Parmi les points forts de sa formation, il retient particulièrement l’accès aux studios tout au long de l’année, qui lui a permis de multiplier les prises de vue, de s’entraîner et de développer ses compétences techniques.

Une année intensive également rythmée par de nombreux projets personnels avec un objectif final : construire un book de 25 à 30 images, résultat d’une dizaine, voire d’une quinzaine de shootings. « Ça ne paraît pas forcément beaucoup, mais c’est le travail de toute une année. »

Student Interview – Elias Leridon 🎙️📸🇬🇧

A graduate of the Accelerated Bachelor in 1 year – The Entrepreneurial Photographer, Elias Leridon looks back on his experience at Spéos and the intensive year he dedicated to professionalising his photography practice.

After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Canada followed by a Master’s degree in business school, Elias wanted to take his photography to a professional level: “I knew I wanted to professionalise my journey in photography.”

One of the main strengths of the program for him was having access to the studios throughout the year, giving him the opportunity to practise extensively and continuously develop his technical skills.

The intensive year also involved numerous personal projects with one final objective: creating a portfolio of 25 to 30 images, resulting from around ten to fifteen different shoots. “It may not seem like much, but it represents an entire year’s work.”

Expert Modules de Spéos 📸🇫🇷

Dans le cadre des Expert Modules, Spéos a eu le plaisir d'accueillir Claudia Zels, iconographe de presse et cheffe de rubrique photo du magazine Capital (Prisma Media).

Forte de plus de vingt ans d'expérience au sein de Prisma Media et ancienne présidente de l'Association Nationale des Iconographes (ANI), Claudia Zels accompagne depuis de nombreuses années les photographes dans leurs relations avec la presse et les médias.

Lors de son intervention, les étudiants ont abordé la collaboration entre photographes et iconographes, les productions photo, l'achat d'images, les bonnes pratiques pour développer sa visibilité auprès des iconographes, ainsi que la veille éditoriale et la proposition de sujets.

Une large partie de la session a également été consacrée à l'analyse des portfolios en ligne des étudiants, avec un regard professionnel sur leurs sites web, qui demeurent un outil essentiel pour présenter leur travail à de futurs clients.

Spéos Expert Modules - Claudia Zels 📸🇬🇧

As part of the Expert Modules, Spéos was pleased to welcome Claudia Zels, photo editor and Head of Photography at Capital magazine (Prisma Media).

With more than twenty years of experience at Prisma Media and as former President of the French National Association of Photo Editors (ANI), Claudia Zels has long supported photographers in their relationships with the press and the publishing industry.

During her session, students explored the collaboration between photographers and photo editors, photographic productions, direct image licensing, best practices for increasing visibility among photo editors, as well as editorial monitoring and pitching story ideas.

A significant part of the workshop was also dedicated to reviewing the students' online portfolios, with professional feedback on their websites, which remain an essential showcase for future clients.

Portfolio - Ajay D'Souza 📸🇫🇷

Lauréat du Prix Fine Art Spéos 2026, Ajay D'Souza est diplômé de la formation Photo documentaire par Magnum Photos & Spéos.

Après plusieurs années dans la publicité puis comme photographe officiel d'un club de football en Inde, il choisit de rejoindre Paris pour approfondir son regard et développer une approche plus personnelle de la photographie documentaire.

Son travail s'attache à raconter des histoires qui interrogent autant qu'elles montrent. Entre émotion, narration et observation du réel, Ajay cherche à créer des images sincères, laissant au spectateur la liberté de construire sa propre interprétation.

Ajay D'Souza's portfolio 📸🇬🇧

Winner of the 2026 Spéos Fine Art Prize, Ajay D'Souza is a graduate of the Creative Documentary Program by Magnum Photos & Spéos.

After several years working in advertising and later as the official photographer of an Indian football club, he came to Paris to deepen his photographic vision and develop a more personal approach to documentary photography.

His work is driven by storytelling that invites reflection rather than providing answers. Blending emotion, observation and long-form narrative, Ajay creates honest, instinctive images that encourage viewers to form their own interpretations.

Interview d’étudiant 🇫🇷 🎙️📸

Diplômée de la Formation de Photographe Professionnel en 2 ans, Éléa Butin revient sur les expériences qui ont marqué son parcours à Spéos.

Parmi ses meilleurs souvenirs, elle cite la qualité du matériel mis à disposition dès son arrivée, ainsi que les deux années passées à travailler à la chambre numérique, une expérience qu’elle considère comme unique.

Elle évoque également un shooting très coloré qui l’a poussée à sortir de son univers habituellement minimaliste, mais aussi les collaborations avec des stylistes et des maquilleurs, qui lui ont permis de découvrir de nouvelles façons de créer en équipe.

Après plusieurs années d’études en communication et marketing, Éléa résume son parcours par une phrase qui reflète parfaitement sa vocation : « J’ai toujours voulu travailler dans l’image, mais c’est vraiment créer des images qui m’a le plus plu. »

A graduate of the Professional Photographer in 2 Years Program, Elea Butin looks back on the experiences that shaped her time at Spéos.

Among her strongest memories are the quality of the equipment available from day one and the two years she spent working in the digital lab, an experience she considers truly unique.

She also recalls a colourful studio project that pushed her beyond her minimalist aesthetic, as well as collaborating with stylists and make-up artists, which introduced her to new ways of creating as part of a team.

After previously studying communication and marketing, Elea sums up her journey with a quote that perfectly reflects her passion: « I’ve always wanted to work with images, but creating images is what I truly love. »

Portfolio - Agnese Garrone 🇫🇷 📸

Diplômée du Bachelor intensif en 1 an – Photographe Entrepreneur, Agnese Garrone développe une pratique photographique à la croisée du documentaire et du portrait éditorial.

À travers des portraits intimistes et des fragments du quotidien, elle explore les thèmes de la mémoire, de l'identité, du temps et de la présence. Son travail, empreint de sensibilité, cherche à révéler ce qui demeure au-delà des apparences, là où fragilité et force coexistent avec subtilité.

Récompensée à plusieurs reprises en 2026, Agnese a reçu le Prix du Jury Spéos dans la catégorie Photoreportage pour son portfolio publié dans ce post, le Prix Jeune Photographe de Bièvres, le 1er Prix Spéos x Kaufman & Broad, ainsi que le Prix Coup de cœur du Hackathon Spéos x Annick Goutal, réalisé avec Antoine Leven.

A graduate of the Accelerated Bachelor in 1 Year – The Entrepreneurial Photographer, Agnese Garrone combines documentary photography and editorial portraiture to create a thoughtful and intimate visual language.

Through portraits and everyday moments, she explores memory, identity, time and presence, seeking to reveal what quietly remains beneath the surface. Her images capture the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength.

In 2026, her work received several distinctions, including the Spéos Jury Prize in the Photojournalism category for her series What Remains, the Bièvres Young Photographer Award, the Spéos x Kaufman & Broad First Prize for Passing Memory, and the Special Jury Award at the Spéos x Annick Goutal Hackathon for the project Awakening, created with Antoine Leven.

Une étudiante de Spéos à la une de profifoto.de 📸🇫🇷

Toutes nos félicitations à Katrina Dobbermanne, diplômée de la formation « Expert en création visuelle numérique : photo, IA, vidéo, 3D », dont la série Constructed a été publiée dans le magazine allemand de photographie ProfiFoto.

L'une des photographies de la série a également été choisie pour la couverture du magazine, à la suite de sa sélection dans la catégorie Best of Best 25/26 du PROFIFOTO NEW TALENT AWARD, organisé par ProfiFoto en partenariat avec Canon, WhiteWall et Hahnemühle.

A Spéos graduate featured on the cover of ProfiFoto 📸🇬🇧

Congratulations to Katrina Dobbermanne, graduate of the "Expert in Digital Visual Creation: Photography, AI, Video, 3D program", whose series Constructed has been published in the German photography magazine ProfiFoto.

One of the photographs from the series was also selected for the magazine cover, following her selection in the Best of Best 25/26 category of the PROFIFOTO NEW TALENT AWARD, organized by ProfiFoto in partnership with Canon, WhiteWall and Hahnemühle.

This recognition continued with her participation in the international group exhibition Worlds in View, presented at Les Murs Blancs Gallery in Arles from July 6 to 12, 2026, during the opening week of the Rencontres d'Arles.

Expert Modules – Martina Bacigalupo 📸🇫🇷

Dans le cadre de ses Modules Experts 2026, Spéos a eu le plaisir d'accueillir Martina Bacigalupo, photographe documentaire, membre de l'Agence VU, et actuellement iconographe pour Le Monde.

Après avoir vécu plus de 10 ans au Burundi, en Afrique de l'Est, Martina Bacigalupo développe une œuvre située à la croisée de la création d'images et du dialogue culturel. Son travail explore les dynamiques de pouvoir entre l'Afrique et l'Occident, les questions de représentation, la circulation des images et les changements de perspective.

Lauréate de plusieurs distinctions internationales, dont le Prix Canon de la Femme Photojournaliste, elle poursuit aujourd'hui son travail entre photographie documentaire, édition d'images et transmission.

Expert Modules – Martina Bacigalupo 📸🇬🇧

As part of its Expert Modules 2026, Spéos was pleased to welcome Martina Bacigalupo, documentary photographer, member of Agence VU, and photo editor for Le Monde.

After spending more than 10 years living and working in Burundi, East Africa, Martina Bacigalupo has developed a body of work at the intersection of image-making and cultural dialogue. Her practice explores the power dynamics between Africa and the West, questions of representation, image circulation and shifting perspectives.

Recipient of several international awards, including the Canon Female Photojournalist Award, she now combines documentary photography, photo editing and teaching.
