“AUP was actually the only school I applied to. From the start, I was certain that Europe was where I wanted to be. Having grown up moving to a new country every 2-3 years, I’ve had many homes, and Europe felt like the perfect central hub connecting them all. After researching my options, I realized AUP was the ideal fit—an English-speaking university in Europe with a diverse community, the personal connection of small class sizes, and, let’s be honest, it’s Paris. Even after two years, this city still feels magical.

Another big draw was AUP’s generous scholarship for students completing the International Baccalaureate program. It not only helped convince my parents from a financial perspective but also reflected the type of globally minded, dedicated students AUP attracts, giving me a sense of the community I’d be joining.

I was also attracted to AUP’s liberal arts approach, especially since I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to study or do in life. While I’m still trying to figure out the “do in life” part, I have, however, settled on a major: Global Communications, which is a very popular choice here at AUP. The flexibility of the liberal arts model allowed me to explore my interests, especially since you only have to declare your major by the end of your sophomore year. I had considered applying to a few schools in London, but I was deterred by the idea of committing to a specific field of study right away.

In the end, I’m happy to say I made the right choice, so much so that my younger sister applied to AUP too!”

The Global Professional Skills (GPS) program at AUP provides a structure for students to form and reflect on their academic and co-curricular experiences; formally emphasizing the well-rounded nature of our graduates and helping prepare students for life after graduation. To earn a GPS certificate, students develop professional skills through workshops and activities that connect their academic and co-curricular opportunities (internships, clubs and organizations, study abroad, etc.). It’s a program that is available to all undergraduate students.

At the end of the program, students present their personal narrative to a panel of AUP alumni, employers, and faculty. This is an excellent way to practice public speaking and communication skills while reflecting on their time at AUP; bringing attention to the value they bring to the professional world. All participants receive a GPS certificate in addition to their diploma.

Four finalists are then selected to present in front of a panel comprised of AUP’s University President, Sonya Stephens, and members of the Board of Trustees. The winner is announced at graduation, where they receive the Danielle Savage GPS Award with a prize of 1,000 euros. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Carolyn Franano 👏🏼

‼️The housing portal opens this week, on Friday May 9th!! 🏠

On Friday, you’ll be able to login to the portal and submit your housing preferences for your first year at AUP! Check our story on Thursday for a complete walk through of what the portal will look like, when it opens, and how to use it.

It’s and we’re so excited to welcome the class of 2029 to our campus this fall! If you’ve already confirmed your attendance to , then félicitations! We’re now hosting a giveaway where three winners will be chosen, at random, to receive a swag care package to celebrate them say !

To enter all you have to do is:

The American University of Paris has long stood at the crossroads of cultures, shaping global citizens and building bridges across cultural and national divides. This legacy continued at the 2025 UAB Model United Nations Conference in Barcelona, where AUP emerged as the most-awarded delegation among a cohort of distinguished and prestigious universities including Sorbonne, Oxford, and many others from around the world. Three AUP students — Artem, Angel, and Carson — received Best Delegate Awards.

This year’s conference theme was “Unbuilding Walls Together.” With 160 delegates participating, the event celebrated our shared humanity and the spirit of unity across borders. It was also uniquely multilingual, featuring six committees in English, one in Spanish, and the world’s only MUN committee conducted in Catalan.

Congratulations to AUP’s Model United Nations team and to our outstanding students for their exceptional performance on this international stage.

🗓️April has arrived, which means will be hosting Admitted Student Receptions in Los Angeles, New York,and right here in Paris this month!

At each of these events you’ll have the chance to meet with current and
former students, faculty members, and your future classmates 🎓!

In addition to these events, students who have been accepted to AUP can also join online events to learn more about life on campus and in Paris.
