Cette édition française a bénéficié du plus haut niveau d’aide à la traduction du Centre national du livre, attribué par un jury de 34 spécialistes de philosophie à des ouvrages appelés à enrichir durablement la vie intellectuelle en langue française.

PICT Books is proud to announce its latest title, “Le Voile de l’image : La peinture dans le soufisme et la phénoménologie”, the French edition of “The Veil of Depiction: Painting in Sufism and Phenomenology” by Evrim Emir-Sayers.

Translated from the English by award-winning translator Maria Matalaev, the book features 26 gorgeous full-color illustrations, from Middle Eastern miniatures to Matisse, and a substantial preface by historian Michael Barry.

The French edition was supported by the highest translation grant of the French Ministry of Culture’s Centre National du Livre, awarded by a jury of 34 philosophy scholars for works deemed important additions to French intellectual life.

Where Ideas Find Time: One Year of the PICT Senlis Retreat 🎈

One year ago, we launched the PICT Senlis Retreat, creating a dedicated space for writers, intellectuals, and artists to retreat from everyday distractions and focus on their work. Since then, we have welcomed remarkable residents from around the world to historic Senlis, allowing new ideas, books, essays, translations, and artworks to take shape. We are proud to mark the retreat’s first anniversary and look forward to many more years of intellectual and artistic creation.

PICT spearheads a new research community, "Engineering Culture", at the EU's EELISA alliance of top European engineering schools. 🎈
