To an adult, it might look like just a stick…
But to a child who is given time, space, and freedom outdoors, it can become anything.
A microphone.
A magic wand.
A paintbrush.
A telephone.
A conductor’s baton.
A tool for storytelling, problem-solving, collaboration, and wonder.
When we give children time to play with nature, we’re not “wasting time” — we’re nurturing imagination, communication, fine motor skills, confidence, risk-taking, turn-taking, and resilience.
Nature invites children to slow down, create their own worlds, and learn through curiosity rather than instruction. This is where deep learning happens — organically, joyfully, and meaningfully.
We are inviting the community to join us in the forest of Mareil-Marly every last Sunday of the month from 10:00 -12:00 to discover the wander of nature together.
Let’s protect childhood.
Let’s protect play.
Let’s keep giving children time in nature 🌲✨

🥣 Learning French Through Hands-On Experiences! 🇫🇷
At Forest International School of Paris, language learning goes far beyond vocabulary and grammar — it’s about living the language.
During French class, our students practiced new words and phrases while following a recipe together. Mixing, measuring, and describing each step in French allowed them to connect words to real-life actions — making learning both meaningful and memorable!
When children do, they remember.
When they create together, they learn with joy. 💛

In the forest, learning doesn’t come from worksheets — it comes from doing.
Today, our little explorers used droppers, patience, and curiosity to watch colors dance in water. What seems like a simple rainbow experiment actually strengthens so much more:
🖐️ Hand–eye coordination
💧 Grip and precision
🧠 Focus and sequencing
❤️ Confidence through creation
Every drop, squeeze, and stir connects their growing minds with their capable hands — reminding us that fine motor skills blossom best through hands-on discovery in nature. 🌿

At Forest International children don’t just learn in nature, they learn from nature.
No matter the season nature teaches our children invaluable lessons of resilience, curiosity, creativity, and engages them in the learning process.
👉Studies show that children learn best when they are engaged, and retain the information for life.

Children don’t learn when coerced. They learn when engaged.
Finland has built one of the most successful education systems in the world by removing unnecessary pressure from students. Instead of relying on national standardized exams, the country allows teachers to assess students through ongoing individual evaluation. This creates a calm and supportive classroom environment where children feel encouraged to learn.
Even with shorter school days and very little homework, Finnish students continue to perform at the top in international rankings. Experts credit this to a strong focus on critical thinking, creativity and real understanding. Teachers are required to complete advanced training, which gives them the freedom and confidence to design lessons that fit their students.
The Finnish approach shows that academic success does not come from long hours or heavy stress. By focusing on well being, balanced learning and joy in education, Finland proves that students learn best when they feel safe, rested and motivated.
We’re opening our doors and welcoming new families to discover the unique magic of Forest International School of Paris.Come meet our teachers, explore our nature-inspired learning spaces, and experience how FISP blends bilingual education with hands-on, child-led discovery. If you’re looking for a nurturing, international, and nature-immersive environment for your child, we would love to meet you. 🌿💛
