Culture time 😋 🥚
Every year, at Easter time, eggs, bunnies and chocolate bells make gourmets dream! And when the weekend comes, the chocolate egg hunt is officially open! However, before the 1800s, we did not offer chocolate eggs but real chicken eggs. So where does this Easter egg tradition come from? You should know that the egg symbolizes the origin of the world, the renewal. During antiquity, the Persians offered chicken eggs to each other in the spring, to mark the end of winter and the rebirth of nature. In Europe, Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the end of Lent. Once highly respected, Lent is a time when Christians voluntarily deprive themselves of certain pleasures, including that of eating eggs. To celebrate the end of these deprivations, they offered themselves the eggs laid during this period. In the middle of the 19th century, chocolate makers mixed sugar, butter and powdered chocolate, and obtained a paste that could be poured into moulds. And that's how the chocolate egg was born and later, the bells, the rabbits, the frying... Depending on the region, it's either the Bells or the Easter Bunny, who lay the eggs all over the place. the gardens. In the end, it doesn't matter who hides the eggs, the important thing is to enjoy!
HAPPY EASTER 🐣 !
