Meet Samaa Abuallaban, a Palestinian visual artist from Gaza, currently based in Paris, where she studies at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
After living for two years under bombardment and repeated displacement, Samaa began documenting the everyday realities that often remain invisible: collecting firewood, searching for food and clean water, living in tents, and trying to preserve the small gestures that make a place feel like home.
Through storytelling, oral history and collage, her work explores the meaning and fragility of home after displacement. Her ongoing project, Genocide Kitchen, archives recipes adapted to extreme scarcity, alongside the wider human experience of hunger, survival and loss in Gaza.
“It’s not only about creating art, but it’s about keeping our narrative. It’s about our existence. We’re still here, we still do art, we still write, we still take pictures, we still laugh, we are alive.”

Meet Nada Rajab, a Palestinian visual artist from Gaza and a fourth-year engineering student.
Since the beginning of the war, Nada and her family have been displaced 28 times. During this period, she has created more than 300 artworks documenting forced displacement, hunger, life in tents and the everyday realities faced by people in Gaza.
Through her personal practice and projects such as Art from Rubble and All Eyes On…, she transforms lived experience into visual testimony. Her work addresses children’s and women’s rights, loss, resistance and memory, while carrying a message to the world: “We are still here.”

Meet Mohamed Zakaria, a Sudanese photographer, filmmaker and journalist from El Fasher, Darfur.
Through photography and journalism, he documents the lives, losses and resilience of communities affected by war and displacement. Having lived through the siege of El Fasher himself, he tells stories from within — those of his family, friends and community — to preserve memory, amplify civilian voices and demand accountability.

Meet Grace Evodie Madhira (Eva Grackia Madhis), from the Centre Culturel Annie, a Congolese actress, theatre director and writer based in Ituri, in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Through her work with young people and vulnerable communities, she makes theatre a space for expression, dialogue and collective rebuilding. In a region marked by recurring conflict, theatre can help overcome fear, restore hope and bring people together beyond ethnic and social divisions.

Meet Rania Al Najdi, a Syrian artist from Damascus, now living in Istanbul.
Arrested three times during the Syrian uprising, she draws on her experience of imprisonment, exile and loss to create work rooted in testimony, remembrance and the refusal of erasure.
Through installations and participatory projects, she gives visibility to stories too often silenced — especially those of children detained and disappeared in Syrian prisons.
Her installation For Those Who Were Not Mentioned and Not Forgotten, made of around 1,500 origami birds, honours those whose lives and stories must not be forgotten.
