An international, experimental teaching–led workshop where faculty present their research through exercises and students teach back their findings.

The Paris Summer School in Design and Performance at AUP gives students a unique chance to participate in an international teaching–led research workshop. The object of all design is to improve a performance – the performance of an object, a service, people or even an entire society in relation to its environment. But design often ends up underperforming in comparison to its vision for a better wo

rld. The workshop is a teaching-led research platform that aims to exchange research work on design and performance. We will exchange our research by attempting to transmit it through collective exercises and methods. Each afternoon the student-groups will apply these collective exercises and methods to their own group projects and then at a later moment teach them back to the faculty in their altered form.

8 faculty interventions, 11 universities represented -- from Pittsburgh to Paris to Tasmania -- 5-day workshop held at The American University of Paris.
