September in Paris means one thing: La Rentrée 🇫🇷

After a quieter August, the city comes back to life. Parisians return from les vacances, terraces fill up again, and everyone has stories to share from the summer.

It’s also a wonderful month to explore beyond the usual Paris itinerary, from the Braderie de Lille and Foire de Chatouto the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine, when some of France’s most historic places open their doors to the public.

If you read our newsletter this month, you’ll know that August is one of the best times to visit a market in Paris 🍑

Our top recommendations for this month:

- stone fruits
- fresh nuts
- melons

This market is the Marché Saxe-Breteuil open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 7am-1:30pm, as well as great and fresh produce there is a bonus view of the beautiful Eiffel Tower

The Poulet du Dimanche : a beautiful ‘poulet rôti’, preference for a ‘fermier’ (usually family size)

Don’t forget the ‘pommes de terre’ ….

August is one of the best months to explore the French market 🇫🇷🍑

Stone fruit is at its peak, with peaches, nectarines and apricots filling the stalls. Look out for the beautiful pêche plate, or flat peach, and make the most of melon season while it lasts.

For something a little different, keep an eye out for fresh noisettes and amandes, which look very different from their dried counterparts.

A few very good reasons to spend a morning wandering through a French market this August. 🇫🇷
