The gentle and graceful giraffe🦒❣️
Africa is the only continent on which giraffes are found in the wild. Giraffes are the largest land mammals.
All giraffe have spots that are unique, in the same way that a fingerprint is unique to humans
The spots are beautiful to look at, but are also good for camouflage in the wild.
In nature, with no interference from humans will live approximately 25 years.
In captivity, with a lack of predators, supplied nutritional needs and medical care, giraffes can live as long as 40 years.
However, giraffes do not always fare well in captivity.
It takes a lot of food to feed a giraffe.
One giraffe can eat 75 pounds of food. 😳
Giraffes like sweets, and are particularly fond of mangoes🥭
The Acacia Tree is a favorite of the giraffe. Although Acacia has long sharp thorns, giraffes can access the tree, because of their very long tongues (18-20 inches ) that bypass the thorns 👍
Giraffes can go 2-3 days without water, because it gets moisture from 🍃 leaves.
Few predators will go after an adult giraffe.
However, an adult giraffe is vunerable, when it’s legs are splayed to get a drink of water.
Giraffes often drink in twos, with one serving as a watchman, while the other drinks👮‍♀️
Many believe a giraffe makes no sound.
Giraffes communicate with each other using sounds that are too low frequency by the human ear👂
Giraffes also make audible sounds, a whistle to their young, that some say sounds like a 🪈 flute.
Other sounds are similar to bellowing, hissing, and snorting.
A giraffes 🦒 neck is more than 7 feet long.
The long neck is an advantage as it allows a better view of its surroundings to watch for enemies.
Another advantage of their long neck, is it provides balance when the giraffe runs… 35 miles an hour 🏆
You can own a pet giraffe in many states, but it is not a good idea.
Owning a giraffe at home involves getting a license which is quite expensive .
Purchasing a giraffe cost anywhere from 20,000-40,000 dollar’s 💰
Insurance and transportation is another 20,000 dollars 💰
It cost roughly 1800 dollars a month to feed a giraffe.
Water 💧 cost about 315 dollars a month.
You would have to factor in vet bills as well.👩‍⚕️

Giraffes are used to African temperatures.
Those temperatures will be difficult to replicate.
Building housing for a giraffe is not an easy task.
Not only do they need vast space, they might start eating your neighbors trees 🌲 or damage their property .
Although giraffes have docile personalities, they have a dark side too🧐 you should never forget that if you are trying to domesticate them, they might attack🤺
Their kicks can be fatal💀
The only reason people domesticate giraffes is for entertainment 😔
Giraffes are majestic creatures.
Although giraffes can be domesticated, they don’t make good pets.
Giraffes for the most part, belong in the wild🦒👍

The magnificent, beautiful 😻, and graceful cheetah 🐆
Nearly all wild cheetahs can be found in sub-Saharan Africa.
Cheetahs can also be found in places like Asia, 🇮🇳 India, and the Middle East.
In 3 seconds, a cheetah 🐆 can get up to 70 mph 😳❣️
Cheetahs use their tails for balancing.
Cheetahs can also turn in mid-air, while sprinting by whipping their tail around❣️
Cheetahs are the only big 🐈 cat, that can do that.
Cheetahs have black tear lines on the sides of their 👃 nose.
The tear lines actually help to keep the 🌞 sun out of a cheetahs 👀 eyes.
The tear marks also help cheetahs to aim and focus on their prey👍
Cheetahs do not roar 🐯 like other big cats.
Cheetahs vocalize with other sounds, such as growling, hissing, or even 🐤 chirp.
Cheetahs are not as dangerous to humans as 🦁 lions or tigers 🐅
Cheetahs DO NOT make good pets.
In the Gulf countries, the latest fad is not to have a luxury car 🚙, instead it is to have an exotic feline, such as a 🐆 cheetah 😡
Thé United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 passed a law in January 2017, mentioning fines up to $136,000 and sentences of about 6 months in prison for owning them 👍👍👍
Nevertheless, the 🤑 rich persist on owning them😡
Cheetahs have very special dietary needs.
Like the majority of wild animals kept as pets, cheetahs are often fed and cared for inappropriately 😢
Cheetahs are not made to eat raw poultry all day long !
Cheetahs need huge holding facilities to keep them healthy.
Cheetahs are made to run, not kept on a leash and confined.
Many baby cheetahs die, before their destination 😢
Thé baby cheetahs that do reach their destination only live a few months to a year.
In the 🌎 worlds population cheetahs are from 100,000 to 6,700. Very 😞 sad and shocking!
If you want to participate in cheetah conservation, please contact CCF fund in France❣️

The cute, yet challenging hedgehog🥰
Hedgehogs live in Africa, Asia, Europe, and 🇳🇿 New Zealand. 🗺
Wild hedgehogs do not live in the U.S.A.
Hedgehogs have quills .. 5000-7000 of them😳
Although, the quills can be painful, if hedgehogs are handled properly, and feel comfortable with you, the quills will not hurt you.
Wild hedgehogs are primarily nocturnal.
Hedgehogs are active at night, and sleep 😴 during the day.
Hedgehogs cannot see well 🤓, but have excellent hearing, and sense of smell.
When Hedgehogs encounter a new smell, a common behavior for them is a behavior called “ self-anointing”
It will be shocking 😳 to watch if you have them as pet.
The Hedgehog will stop what they are doing, and twist their body.
They will then begin foaming at the mouth.
The hedgehog will than lick the foam mixture onto their quills.
Although it is a strange behavior to watch, it is normal for them, and harmless.
Scientists are not sure why the hedgehog does this🤔it is believed they may do this for their self-protection.
If you decide to purchase a hedgehog from a reputable seller, there are
many things to consider💭
Pet hedgehogs are omnivores, and will require either hedgehog or cat
food.
Also, small amounts of 🍉 fruits and vegetables 🌽
Insects 🐞 as well
Hedgehogs are shy, and are not likely to be a social pet like 🐈 or 🐩 dogs.
However, regular bonding between you and your hedgehog will accustom them to human interaction.
Hedgehogs 🦔 environment requires proper temperature 🤒 70-86 degrees
Fahrenheit.
This will ensure that so not go into hibernation.. as that could be lethal to them 💀 if they are kept in captivity.
🦔 Hedgehogs will require proper bedding, and places to hide.
Hedgehogs need a light 💡 cycle of 12 hours a day. ⏱
Unlike other pocket pets such as 🐀 rats and 🐰 bunnies. Hedgehogs for the most part be housed alone.
Especially if two males are housed together, failure to do so could result in death 💀 or injury 🩹
It is important to 📝 note, that as many as 28% of hedgehogs are asymptotic carriers of diseases.
You can reduce the risk of contacting infection by hand washing, and avoiding direct contact of their f***s
Pet hedgehogs will thrive and be a bundle of 🤩 fun if you understand what they need👍
However, there are various lifestyle factors, that might not mesh with your schedule.
Please be aware of this before adopting this adorable 🥰 pet.

Content smile, little sleepy eyes. The sloth is incredibly 🥰 cute.
Sloths give birth hanging upside down.
Female sloths give birth to one baby a year.
The baby sticks with the mother six months, as she moves through the 🌳 trees.
This bonding period helps offspring learn and develop ❣️
Sloths have a slow metabolism and defecate only once a week😳
Sloths 🦥 lose one third if their body weight during this process.
They leave their tree and dig a small hole 🕳 .
Sadly, over 50 percent of sloths 🦥 die when they defecate😥
This is because most sloths climb down out of their protective trees, leaving them vulnerable to predators 🐆
Sloths don’t smell, however, their hairy coats are dirty.
Their coats are a cozy habitat for colonies of 🐞 insects, algae, and 🐛 bugs.
Sloths are color-blind, and their eyesight is poor.
Sloths 🦥 compensate by having a phenomenal sense of smell, and a great spatial memory.
Sloths are three times 🏋️‍♀️ stronger than human beings.
Sloths love ❤️ 🏊‍♂️ swimming, and are three times faster in water, than they are on land.
Sloths swimming style is the backstroke.
Although it is legal to own sloths in the USA. It is not recommended.
Wild animals like sloths rarely fare as well in captivity, as they do in the wild.
It is close to impossible to replicate every aspect of their natural environment in captivity.
Sloths are best suited for lif in the canopy of a tropical 🌴 rainforest.
A happy sloth 🦥 is a wild sloth ❣️

Mom 🦦 otters will happily adopt stranded pups and take care of
them❣️
🦦 Otters have the thickest fur of any mammal in the animal kingdom.🏆
Their hair keeps the otters dry and warm, and helps them with buoyancy 👍
Otters love to eat shelled animals like clams🐚
Otters aren’t able to open their food without help, so they use a 🪨 rock, that they often store, under their skin for later use.💡👍
In Bangladesh 🇧🇩 otters help fisherman. They train the otters to act as herders to chase large schools of 🐠 fish into their net.
Since otters are very 🥰 cute. Some people want to own them as pets 😕
