Last week one of our Grade 4 class went to the Art Fair at the Grand Palais. They saw beautiful art work from many artists and met Gallery owners that took the time to answer their questions.

We’re so proud of our students who recently took part in the Poetry By Heart (Paris) competition — and came home with second prize! 🎉

Originally launched in the UK, Poetry By Heart was brought to France in 2015 through a partnership with Elsa France and has since grown into a vibrant inter-school competition involving more than 25 international schools in France and beyond. Today, it runs across three levels: Primary, Middle School, and High School.

Students first take part in in-school competitions, with finalists going on to represent their school at the inter-school finals — making this a truly exciting and enriching experience.

Through Poetry By Heart, students develop confidence, performance skills, and a real connection to poetry in an engaging and accessible way.

Life for our children is marked by the gentle undulations of the school year. Learning is not a fixed path, but a journey that ebbs and flows across the months, where each day carries meaning and each milestone offers a moment to pause. In recognising the passage of time, students begin to understand not only how far they have come, but how learning itself is shaped—through persistence, reflection, and shared experience.

The 100th Day of School offered just such a moment. It invited our learners to reflect on their progress, both individually and collectively, and to celebrate the steady accumulation of knowledge, skills, and confidence built day by day. Beyond what is known, it is how learning is lived—through curiosity, movement, creativity, and hands-on exploration—that gives it depth and meaning.

Across the campus, the day unfolded with a quiet sense of joy and accomplishment. Students shared their “collections of 100” — thoughtful assemblies of objects, collages, puzzles, and creations that spoke to both imagination and effort. Classrooms became spaces of wonder, where parents and children alike could pause to appreciate not only the outcomes, but the process behind them.

Such milestones remind us that learning is not measured solely in outcomes, but in growth over time. They invite us to acknowledge the dedication of our educators, the engagement of our students, and the essential partnership with families that sustains this journey.

In marking 100 days, we honour not just a number, but the rhythm of learning itself—steady, evolving, and full of possibility.

Grade 5 understood the assignment this week… and it involved cookies.

During parent-teacher conferences, our brilliant Grade 5 students ran a bake sale fundraiser in full costume (yes, really), raising money for three incredible student-led projects: an endangered species poetry book, a coral preservation initiative, and an anti-bullying video.

The steady stream of parents following the wafting aroma of chocolate chips and freshly baked treats was proof enough — this was a huge success.

Mostly, though? Pure joy. Lots of laughter, prancing, café lattés delivered with flair, and leadership served fresh out of the oven. 💛

Bravo, Grade 5 — saving the world one cookie at a time. 🌍🍪
