That's when "les soldes d'été" officially kick off nationwide, running through July 21.

Stores slash prices in stages, starting around 30% off and climbing toward 70% as the weeks go on.

The first days usually have the best selection, while the final week has the deepest discounts but picked-over racks.

UK ETA SYSTEM CRASHED THIS WEEK AND TURNED TRAVELERS AWAY AT THE GATE ✈️

The UK's electronic travel authorization system went down on June 3, leaving hundreds of travelers stranded at airports, train stations, and ferry terminals.
⠀
Airlines, Eurostar, and ferry operators refused boarding to anyone without a confirmed ETA, no exceptions.
⠀
The system is back online now, but processing delays stretched past 60 hours during the outage.
⠀
The UK introduced this mandatory requirement for 84 visa-exempt countries, including the U.S. and Canada, in early 2026.

Cost is £20 (about $27), valid for 2 years, multiple entries. Apply at least 72 hours before departure.

This was the first outage in 30 months of service. And the EU's own version, ETIAS, launches later this year.
