One thing that drives me insane is the lack of real talk about what it truly takes to bring a film or TV project to life 😒
Sure, there are those epic behind-the-scenes documentaries after a massive hit, but before that? It's all produced in a ‘shush’ mode.
This secrecy builds a big wall, hiding the intense struggle creators face before their ideas even see the light of day.
..and if they don't make it, those stories fade away.
Since my first day in the industry, I was told to keep my projects secret—unless I'm pitching on stage or talking to someone who might actually get involved 🎥
But deep down, I feel the need to document every step of the process while it's still in the making.
Worst case scenario: the project never hits the screen, at least it won't just be in my head. It'll exist here, in the real world.
Best-case scenario: I'll compile a producer's diary chronicling all the triumphs and setbacks, early mornings and late nights, encounters with gatekeepers and supporters, along with my vulnerable reflections on navigating the industry as a Gen Z 😎
So, starting now, I'm going to raise the curtain and share snippets of my film project journey.
