Memory of our performance at Tango To Paris Festival.
Nothing feels like home! It was such an honour and a joy to perform at the first edition of Tango To Paris Festival. Thank you for giving us a moment on that beautiful dancefloor in front of so many friends and colleagues. We really loved the warmth of the festival's atmosphere and how both the team and the artists worked exceptionally well together to make this event feel so warm, joyful and vibrant. Even Paris, now and then, needs an infusion of the best vibes, the most brilliant inspiration, the coolest dancers and that special sense of celebrating tango mastery that a festival brings. Thank you, Tango To Paris team. You made Paris rock even more!
Our next musicality workshop in Paris is titled "Troilo: between tenderness and tempest". Many of us struggle to identify Troilo's orchestra when we hear it because his music has so many familiar elements from other orchestras that he influenced and that influenced him. If I were to use just a few words to describe his music I would say "intelligent, introverted, inwardly tumultuous, nostalgic". So how do you interpret such a rich palette as a dancer?
From our second workshop in the cycle on musicality and interpretation of the greatest orchestras. This time we looked at the various periods and energies of the King of Rhythm.
A lot of us have received an overdose of Carlos Di Sarli in our beginner years because teachers love playing it in classes. Yet, there are only very few people who would not name Di Sarli among their favourite orchestras. "The Gentleman of Tango" has left us a musical legacy of exceptional beauty. His music has an elegant clarity that makes it feel simple, like any true elegance. Yet his musical legacy is diverse and far from easy to interpret. His strongest quality is the unmistakable melodical lines, a sound that we recognise right away. In our workshop "Dancing Di Sarli's elegance" we want to take you on a journey though the various periods of Di Sarli's music and try to match it's simplicity, elegance and poignancy with how we dance it.
Where and when: Paris, 21 sept' 25, 14h30 - 17h30, Studio Le Baretto, registrations at [email protected].

Kicking off the new season with a series of workshops on musicality of the most beloved orcherstras, starting with Carlos di Sarli. The workshop consists of two parts: first, which vocabulary is suitable to improvise with to Di Sarli (such as a slow languish walk) and how to dance it with quality. And the second part dives more into various periods of Di Sarli music and how to use the vocabulary to express the music. If you are in Paris, join our workshops at the intimate Le Baretto Studio.
