این نگاره مربوط به داستان «کرم هفتواد» در شاهنامهٔ فردوسی است؛ جایی که دختر هفتواد هنگام نخ‌ریسی، کرمِ درون یک سیب را می‌یابد و آن را در دوکدان خود نگه می‌دارد. از همان روز نخ‌ریسی او پربارتر می‌شود و این رویداد آغاز قدرت گرفتن خاندان هفتواد است؛ ماجرایی که در ادامه به رویارویی اردشیر بابکان با هفتواد و نابودی کرم و سقوط آن خاندان می‌انجامد.

This illustration depicts the story of “The Worm of Haftvād” from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. In this episode, Haftvād’s daughter, while spinning thread, discovers a worm inside an apple and keeps it in her spindle case. From that day on, her spinning becomes more abundant, marking the beginning of the rise of Haftvād’s household. This event eventually leads to a confrontation between Ardashir Babakan and Haftvād, ending with the destruction of the worm and the fall of Haftvād’s family.

Cette miniature représente l’histoire du « Ver de Haftvād » dans le Shāhnāmeh de Ferdowsi. Dans cette scène, la fille de Haftvād, en filant la laine, découvre un ver dans une pomme et le garde dans son étui à fuseau. Dès ce jour, son filage devient plus abondant, marquant le début de l’ascension de la famille de Haftvād. Cet événement conduit finalement à l’affrontement entre Ardéchir Bâbakân et Haftvād, se terminant par la destruction du ver et la chute de cette lignée.
