How do you handle me-time in lockdown?
I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine and he pointed out something very interesting.
He and his wife both work from home due to the pandemic. Their two kids are in an out of kindergarden depending on the health of teachers.
So my friend told me that financially, they are secure and they are all healthy and well.
They have a garden so they can go out to play with the kids.
And then he said something that stuck in my mind: he said that ever since they've been married, it's the first time that they spend whole days NOT speaking to each other with his wife.
That's something very specific to working from home. Usually when your spouse comes home from work, you can ask "How was your day" and they'll have things to say.
But when you spend the whole day sitting side by side, what do you have to talk about, right?
And this raises a whole set of new questions:
How to avoid enstrangement in family life?
How to create meaningful and interesting conversations when you're constantly with the other person?
How to handle our natural need for some me-time in this setting?
SO NOW I'M CALLING ON ALL OF YOU TO GIVE ME YOUR TIPS AND EXPERIENCE AND LET'S ALL HELP EACH OTHER!
