đ 15 requests. Then 24. Then 42. This year alone: 125 â and counting.
Every number is a person who lost access to sound: a student who can't hear their teacher, a grandparent who can't hear "I love you," a worker who needs to hear to keep their job. When a cochlear implant processor or components stop working, gets discontinued, or ages out of warranty, insurance often won't cover it â and replacing it can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.
That's where we come in. Joyful Life Cochlear Implant Fund is a tiny, all-volunteer nonprofit getting equipment to cochlear implant recipients who have nowhere else to turn. But the need is growing faster than we can keep up.
Help us meet this moment.
đ€ Join us for Boots, Bling & The Gift of Hearing â Thursday, September 24, at The Lakes of Castle Hills â for an evening of dinner, dancing, and giving the gift of sound. Can't make it? Any gift, big or small, keeps someone connected to the people they love.

One of the greatest gifts of speaking at the Women Thrive London (Women Thrive Media - Community For Women In Business) event last month wasnât just stepping onto the stageâit was the incredible women I met along the way.đ
Today I got to spend time with one of my fabulous fellow speakers, Dr. Rosa M Colon-Kolacko who is visiting Nice, and it reminded me that some of the most meaningful opportunities happen after the event ends.
When you bring together women from around the world who are committed to creating impact, the conversations donât stop when everyone flies home. They evolve into friendships, collaborations, new ideas, and possibilities that none of us could create alone.
Hereâs to surrounding yourself with people who expand your thinking and remind you that weâre always stronger together. đ«

Some moments are so much bigger than a concert. This was one of them. đ€ đ¶â€ïž
As I stood in Hyde Parkâpart of a record-breaking crowd just minutes before Garth Brooks took the stageâas you can see here, I was beyond jazzed (despite already standing for 5+ hours in sweltering heat & humidityđ« ). Not just because I was about to see my all-time favorite artist for the seventh time.đ„ł
But because 30+ years earlier, I was experiencing what little I had left of my hearing, disappear.
Back then, I didnât know if there would even be a future where I could hear music, or any sound, again.
What I did have, in my dorm room, was a portable CD player, Garth Brooks CDsâwith all the lyrics printed inside the CD jacket, so I could follow alongâand his songs that gave me the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other, when all hope seemed lost.
â
The River
â
Unanswered Prayers
â
even The Dance, to some extent
Those songs became more than music. They became reminders to keep going... to keep believing... to keep living, even when I couldnât see any path ahead.
I often wonder what would have happened if I hadnât had that hope. Because if I hadnât kept going, I may not have lived long enough to discover that cochlear implant technology had advanced enough to give me a second lease on life.
Just a few days before this concert marked 29 years since my cochlear implant was activated.
So, while thousands & thousands of people were celebrating an incredible night of music...I was quietly celebrating something else.
A second chance. To hear every lyric. To hear every story. To hear every word spoken between the songs. To fully appreciate the life I have lived for the past 29 years.đâ€ïž
Thank you, Garth Brooks, for writing & performing songs that helped me hold on when I couldnât yet see what was waiting on the other side. â€ïžđ¶đ€
Thank you JJ for capturing my excitement!đđđ

This was one of the slides from my recent talk in London, and it sparked some of the most meaningful conversations afterward.
What struck me wasnât just the quote itselfâit was how many women recognized themselves in it.
So many high-achieving women spend years believing they need more confidence:
âĄïžMore credentials.
âĄïžMore experience.
âĄïžMore proof.
âĄïžMore certainty.
But what if confidence isnât actually the issue?
What if the real challenge is that your self-conceptâthe way you see yourselfâhasnât caught up with who youâre becoming?
When your self-concept is limited, youâll naturally question yourself, play small, and hesitate to take up space.
Not because youâre incapable. Because your internal identity hasnât yet expanded to include the next level of you. This is the heart of the work I doânot teaching women how to âfake confidence.â
Helping them expand their self-concept so they can stop trying to become someone else and start fully owning who they already are. Because when self-concept expands, confidence stabilizes, visibility increases and your leadership and impact grow.đđ«
Because the world doesnât need another version of someone else. It needs the fullest expression of YOU!
âš Whatâs one area of your life where youâre ready to stop comparing and start owning who you are?

One week ago, I was flying home from London on an absolute high.
I had just spent two incredible days surrounded by women stepping into their voices, sharing their stories, and reminding one another that our lives & impact matter.đđ»đ
On that stage, my closing words were:
âWe get just ONE go-around on this ride we call life. ONE chance to share our gifts, talents, and voices. So goâbe VISIBLE, be BOLD, OWN YOUR VOICE!â
A day later, I received the shocking news that my friend Elizabeth had unexpectedly passed away at just 61 years old.đ
Life has a way of reminding us how fragile and precious it all is. Her last text to me Sunday morning was: âwas your talk fabulous?! Are you having fun??ââŠ
This photo was taken a few years ago, at my 50th birthday party. Elizabeth (on the right) showed up wearing a crown she had bought specifically for the occasionâbecause thatâs who she was. Fun. Playful. Always ready to celebrate.đ„
The irony of my message in London was not lost on me this week.
None of us knows how much time we have.
â
So say the thing.
â
Take the trip.
â
Wear the crown.
â
Share your gifts.
â
Tell people you love them.
Donât wait for someday.
Elizabeth, thank you for the laughter, the friendship, and the reminder to live a little bigger.
You will be deeply missed. đđ
