The Problem with Late Email Replies | Sue Reynolds 16/04/2026

Are you or your business English students always late in responding to emails? This article shares tips for managers to stop the bottleneck. There's an excellent email signature update you can use in class "I respond to emails at 9am and 4pm
If there is a fire, call." Love it!

Sprouts 04/03/2026

Videos spark interest in class. Sprouts is an educational channel with free videos for teachers. I watched the "Peter Principal" and "the Duning-Krugar Effect" and enjoyed them both. Many more topics here. I'd suggest dropping any video into AI (I use Gemini) to get a transcript, and ask for a vocabulary game, comprehension questions or discussion questions.

Looking for free readymade worksheets on business topics? I just did a search on their site for workplace topics and here's the list. A worksheet is still just a worksheet but spice it up by asking AI to make flash cards, or vocabulary cards to play a game I love where one person in the group gives a definition and the others guess the word.

Focus on Top TOEIC Topics in class - BusinessEnglishAllure.com 15/02/2026

Do you ever feel like you’re doing too much for your students?

We’ve all been there. Trying to make a difficult reading task easier by pre-teaching a mountain of vocabulary. But I’ve realized that too much support can actually be a bit insulting to our adult and high school learners!

"Respectful Scaffolding" is all about finding that "Goldilocks" zone: not too much help, not too little support, but just right.

I’ve put together a lesson plan focused on TOEIC and Workplace vocabulary that uses this method. Your students get to work in pairs, help each other, and actually think their way through the text.

Inside the post: *2 Game Templates for your classroom. *A quick video on how to use "fields" in Word to keep your flashcards perfectly sized. *Tips for moving the templates into Google Docs/Slides.

Check it out here: https://www.businessenglishallure.com/focus-on-top-toeic-topics-in-class/

I’d love to know "how do you strike the balance between supporting your students and letting them struggle (just a little!)?"

Lots of well-done worksheets here on vocabulary topics adults need. There's listening as well. Try the clothing worksheets and then add a fashion show for fun where one student takes the runway while his partner explains the outfit.

The Beatles' best song lyrics to practise the present simple 20/11/2025

My ESL students always loved songs. I bet yours do too. Here's a free website with the YouTube video for the audio, full lyrics, plus an exercise. The songs are Categorized by grammar point (ex. Present simple) or by vocabulary subject. They include a short bio about the singer or group. I really enjoyed just going through the list and reading the lyrics while listening. Bruno Mars, Beyonce and many more artists. Can't recommend this website enough. The bio makes for a short reading comprehension. You could ask your students to so some research about the meaning behind the songs for an exercise in writing.

It's November 2025 and articles about AI are everywhere so why did I chose to share this one? Forbes magazine is a trusted source and always finds a unique business angle. This article reassures bosses on how to remain relevant in front of younger staff who are picking up knowledge via AI that was the domain of big bosses.
