🎥 Hear directly from our interns about their experience at the Robo'Lyon Summer Camp!

Over the course of one week, they explored the many skills involved in building a robot, from design and programming to communication and teamwork. Along the way, they tackled exciting challenges, worked on innovative projects, and discovered what it’s like to be part of the Robo'Lyon community. 🤖🚀

In this video, they share what they learned, the moments that stood out, and their overall experience throughout the camp.

🚀 CAD Training Workshop ⚙️

The goal of the CAD workshop was to introduce students to the software and help them work on a mechanical project. We started with beginner exercises, such as designing a dice 🎲 and a tissue box 📦. These activities allowed them to get familiar with Inventor’s features and tools.

Once they had mastered the basics, they were challenged to create a mechanism 🔧. The project consisted of a scoop that could move up and down ⬆️⬇️ to pick up an object from the ground. This task helped them learn assembly design, one of the most important aspects of the software 🛠️✨.

✨Follow us through a day of programming at our Robotic Camp!

🚀 The goal of the programming camp was to introduce participants to the basics of programming and help them code their first simple algorithms.

To do this, we first used the simulator created by FIRST 🤖 to help them discover the different mechanisms and how block-based programming works. Then, we moved on to real motors ⚙️, where they got hands-on experience through practical exercises.

Next, we added our first sensors 📡 and built our first mechanism: a shovel mounted on a base 🦾. The participants learned how to program both the shovel and the base it was attached to 💻.

This week in Communication, we first introduced the interns to what communication is in general and what we do within the department. 📢 They then took part in a video workshop, where they were able to experience Stella’s role by editing videos based on interviews, for example. 🎬 We also presented all the different roles we can take on. 👥

We ran an article-writing workshop led by Vincent, who also presented his role. ✍️ We also introduced them to sponsorship levels and the sponsorship packages we can prepare. 🤝

Finally, we held a graphic design workshop, where we proposed creating social media posts 📱 and T-shirt designs. 👕🎨
