🐾 Akongo is at the EAZA Annual Conference in Paris!
Once again this year, several projects we have contributed to, either independently or in collaboration with partner zoos, will be presented during the conference.
🎤 5 presentations:
- Assessing Raptor Welfare in Practice, presented by Mélanie and Marion.
- Gibbon Nutrition: Nutritional & Behavioral Benefits, presented by Mélanie.
- Behavioral changes in Yellow-breasted Capuchins (S. xanthosternos) after moving to a new exhibit, presented by Amélie and by Benoît Quintard from the Parc Zoologique & Botanique de Mulhouse.
- Preliminary Results of the First Behavioural Study in Phelsuma inexpectata and First Observations of Breeding Behaviours, in collaboration with La Citadelle de Besançon as part of Loan’s internship.
- Development of an Ethogram to Assess European Pond Turtle Behavior and Welfare, in collaboration with the Parc Zoologique & Botanique de Mulhouse as part of Alyssa’s internship.
📌 2 posters:
- How Do Arctic Foxes Cope with Heat? A study conducted by Elsa as part of her PhD, using a comparative approach between Arctic foxes living in the wild and those housed in zoos.
- Rotate! Influence of Regular Environmental Changes on Behaviours, Space Use and Welfare in Zoo Animals, produced in collaboration with the Parc de Branféré as part of Justine’s internship.
