Right then, who wants some useful British slang?! 🖐

Use these to really sound natural, either altogether like this, or just one of them. Either way will work.🔥

Here's some British slang for you:

- Explain how it works - show you the ropes
- I'm very busy - a lot on my plate
- Very unorganised - all over the shop

Was there a situation recently where you could have used one of these? Share it in the comments. 🙂

Happy New Year to you all!🥳

It has been a long time since I posted here, but with the new year already here it is time to get back into it. 💪

Last year ended up being very busy, with an eight-week training program to boost my teaching skills and bring new ideas to my classes, along with work, life, and the holidays this page lost some of my attention. BUT, there are some changes coming! Eek!😁 STAY TUNED!!

I wish all of you lovely people a great week back in work, school, or whatever else you have going on this year!

Hello, how are you? 👋

Ok, so we all know this is the basic greeting 'Hello, how are you?', and there's nothing wrong with this, you can really use it anytime with anyone. Yay! 😊

But, there are so many more greetings that we can use.

👋 Hey, how's it going?

👋 Hi, how's things?

👋 Alright mate, how's it going?

👋 What's up buddy?

And the best part about it is, you can mix different parts of these greetings to make more. Like, 'What's up mate?' or 'how's it going buddy?' because 'mate/buddy' mean friend, and also, we don't usually say 'friend' to a friend, it is just too formal. 🙄

And general answers could be anything like:

👍 Fine, thanks.

👍Yeah, not too bad.

👍All good, you?

Alrighty then, let me know below if you can think of anymore, or even better, mix some of these to make a new greeting. 👇

Have a good one! 👋

4 ways to use the word 'get':

✔ Morning, can I get a large coffee, please? ☕
✔ I don't get it!🤔
✔ I just got my parcel delivered. 📦
✔ I'm going to get a new phone tonight. 📱

You've probably heard and seen 'get' used everywhere in everyday English, and for good reason too. Using the alternatives is just too formal in day-to-day life. We just don't get it!

And you won't believe it, but there are more than just 4!😮

So, what are they? Leave your answers in the comments below. 👇

🤯Feeling like there's too much going on in life and you just want to say no?
❌Of course, you can just say 'no, thanks'. But try these instead, it's much more fun.
👍Tip - using a variety of sentences to say the same thing will help you feel more confident and sound more fluent.

After a wonderful summer holiday road trip full of sightseeing🧐, driving🚐, hiking⛰, climbing🧗‍♂️, and eating😋 of course, it is now time to get back to the grindstone. I hope you are feeling fresh off the press and ready to start work/school/study again. What did you get up to during the summer? I'd love to know! 🙂

Back to the grindstone - back to work
Fresh off the press - ready to go and do something
What did you get up to? - What did you do?

'I live' or 'I stay'? 🤔
"I'm living in France now" permanently.
"I'm staying at a friend's house" temporarily.

Are you using ‘live’ and ‘stay’ correctly? Here’s a quick tip from Beth! Now, complete the sentence: 😀🤔

They’re ______ in a hotel for a couple of nights. They’ll be home on Tuesday.
1. living
2. staying

Hello wonderful followers! 🙂

In September, I have a couple of spaces opening up for private English lessons. If you need help after school or would just like to practice English conversation in a relaxed manner, then don't hesitate to send me a message. They can be online (like most of my students) or at my place in Saint Donatien. Have a great weekend! 🌞
