Congratulations to our latest batch of Faceting Bootcamp graduates and to our intern Ludivine who cut a few stones as well. We had a great couple of weeks together learning to cut stones while the sun ravaged the city with a heat wave. Good luck in all your future Gemcutting endeavors!

If you haven’t heard, we have just announced a brand new faceting class. Gemstone Recutting and Repair is a one week course that will teach you exactly what the name says; how to recut stones, how to create a diagram for the shape you have on the fly without a paper diagram, how to repair broken stones, how to repolish, and more. It’s an intensive one week class and we have two dates being offered this year. One of them is next week in our Lyon France Campus and the other one is in late October in Brooklyn, New York at Brooklyn Metal Works. Seats are already getting filled, so if you’re interested in learning to recut this year, sign up now!

Congratulations to all our new Faceting Bootcamp graduates. We just finished our first ever two week Faceting Bootcamp Mountain Retreat. This is our standard foundational faceting course, but in a much more interesting setting, up in the Jura Mountains, in the heart and home of French gemcutting. We had a great couple of weeks with this gang, not only cutting stones, but also going to cheese shops, visiting old Gem, cutting factories, and seeing lots and lots of gemcutting history in all the museums around the area. Good luck to you all with all your future faceting adventures

We had a nice adventure this weekend with our students for the Faceting Bootcamp mountain retreat. We visited two gemcutting museums, a gemcutter mural, and a few cheese shops. Fun and delicious!

A small note to say that we have one more Faceting Bootcamp in 2026 that isn’t totally full, which is our October class in Brooklyn, New York at Brooklyn Metal Works. We also still have a few seats left in our Beyond Basics faceting workshop in Lyon this August.
We have just posted our complete 2027 calendar for your planning convenience. You can’t sign up for anything yet, but you can at least pencil it in on the calendar, so you can plan your 2027 faceting schedule. We hope to see you in the classroom later this year or next year.
