EVENT | Festival de Confolens

During the Festival de Confolens , we had the pleasure of welcoming « Chandana and the Dancers’ Guild » a group of Sri Lankan to discover the Domaine.
They introduced us to their culture through a impressive performance of traditional Sri Lankan music and dance.

The Confolens Festival is an international celebration of traditional music and dance, founded in the late 1950s. Each summer, it brings together artists and audiences from around the world for a week of cultural exchange, performances, and encounters in the heart of Charente, not far from Boisbuchet.

RESIDENCY | Announcing the 2026 resident supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Felix Bell (Felix Bell) has been selected as the 2026 resident at Boisbuchet, in a program organized with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The program offers a fully funded residency from August 23 to October 4, 2026.

Through object-making and sound recording, Felix Bell explores the complex relationships between landscape, community and ecology in the context of modernity. His research combines material practices with sensory ethnography, taking shape through exhibitions, community events, participatory workshops and written publications.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the applicants who submitted proposals.

WORKSHOP SEASON 2026 | Cadavre Exquis: How Things Stay Together

This workshop explored the shift from individuality to collectivity through the lens of Cadavre Exquis. Through a series of collective exercises, individual self-expression was gradually translated into three-dimensional propositions. The main assignment consisted of developing a room as part of a dissected modular house. Each participant created a personal spatial microcosm, informed by their own experiences and ideas of domesticity. Corridors connected the modules, functioning both architecturally and metaphorically, linking distinct identities into a collective whole.

WORKSHOP SEASON 2026 | No Specific Plans

Design often begins with a plan. Life rarely does. Adaptation and flexibility are essential strategies for survival in nature. Led by designer Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, the workshop explored improvisation as a design methodology. Participants began without predefined objectives, allowing objects to emerge from the materials, situations, and constraints they encountered along the way. Instead of working from detailed drawings or predetermined specifications, they engaged directly with materials available on site—remnants, offcuts, and overlooked resources.

WORKSHOP SEASON 2026 | Liquid Dreams

This workshop explored the relationship between digital tools and hands-on material experimentation. Led by Audrey Large and Théophile Blandet, it brought together two complementary approaches: Audrey Large’s use of digital images and computational processes to generate objects, and Théophile Blandet’s direct engagement with materials, where structures and mechanisms emerged through making. The workshop investigated how seemingly opposite forces—digital and manual, natural and artificial, liquid and solid—could intersect within the same design process.
The workshop culminated in the creation of aluminium cast elements. Moulds were developed from this mixed process and used to produce metal forms that could be combined with raw components sourced directly from the Domaine.
