🌺Lest We Forget🌺

On this day 25th April 1915 World War I. 90,000 Australian, New Zealand, British and French forces began landing on the Gallipoli Peninsular to attack Turkish positions.

On this day we Commemorate Anzac Day and Remember the sacrifices made by those people who served from Australia & New Zealand.

🌺Lest We Forget🌺

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli against the Ottoman Empire during World War I.

Anzac Day is also observed in the Cook Islands, Niue, Pitcairn Islands, and Tonga, and previously also as a national holiday in Papua New Guinea and Samoa.

“One Note: while Remembrance day commemorates all who have given the Ultimate sacrifice to their Country ANZAC Day is a day of honouring all who have died and those that have Served in our armed forces both veterans, present members and those to come, it is NOT a glorification of war but honouring ALL those who were willing to place their lives in danger to defend our nation and it's values.” Peter Graham

🌺🎺 One Last Ride is a collaborative community film made with the support of peak National associations and ordinary Australians. It honours the Australian Light Horse Regiments from WW1, both men and their horses. Of over 136 000 horses shipped overseas from Australia, only ONE ever returned. The men were traumatised by this decision and held their horses in their hearts until the day they died.

This song is dedicated to the band's great-grandfather Tom, who enlisted with his horse Ebenezer. He told his family on his deathbed, many years later, how leaving his horse overseas was one of the worst things that happened in his lifetime.
