Teachers’ roles have changed considerably in the last 10 years both due to new methods and curricula as well as the rise of technology and digitalisation in the classroom. But none of these factors have had a comparable impact to the Corona pandemic. Since the announcement of the first lockdown in spring, teachers as well as parents (and of course students) had to face numerous obstacles and learn to cope in an ever-changing situation. Now that we are facing „the second wave“ and again a greater use of distance learning, it is more important than ever to examine the role of the teacher.

BEST EUROPEAN LEARNING MATERIALS AWARD

The BELMA was initiated in 2011 and every year prizes are given in four different categories from kindergarten to adult education. In addition the international jury of experts recognises outstanding pedagogical concepts with a number of special prizes. This year the big annual event at which the winners of the BELMA are revealed will not take place on the educational stage at the Frankfurt Book Fair but virtually as an online event. Originally it was planned for Feb 1st but due to technical reasons we have shifted the opening to the 10th.
