The Advanced Programme in Investment Arbitration presents its class of 2022! The students will represent the Paris Bar School at the FDI Moot that will take place in London from November 3 to 6, 2022.

Throughout the year, they will also attend seminars given by international arbitration professionals.

Congratulations to all of you that recently passed the exam with flying colours!

Applications to the Advanced Programme in Investment Arbitration (APIA) are now open for students joining the EFB - École de Formation du Barreau in 2022!

The APIA offers an unparalleled opportunity to kickstart your career in international arbitration through:

- lectures in investment arbitration/international law from major law firms and arbitral institutions (Lalive, Cleary Gottlieb, King & Spalding, Three Crowns, Allen & Overy, Curtis, Freshfields, White & Case, Hogan Lovells, McDermott Will & Emery, International Chamber of Commerce…);
- competing in the FDI Moot against 100+ universities (London, Nov 2022).

Applicants should ideally have:
- strong academics;
- basic knowledge of international arbitration;
- excellent command of English;
- strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and as part of a team;
- experience in arbitration firms and moots is an asset (but not required).

Applicants should send a cover letter and CV in English to [email protected] (cc: [email protected]; [email protected]).

Deadline: 15 December 2021.

Based on written applications, preselected students will be invited to formal interviews (16-31 December 2021). At the end of the selection process, 10 students will be admitted into the Programme.

Considering the large number of questions received regarding the applications and interviews, we have decided to:

🙏Paris Bar School team would like to sincerely thank Marc Krestin and Katja Grivnova for their very useful workshops on written advocacy at Allen & Overy.

📖 For the 3rd consecutive time the firm welcomes the team at their premises and we consider ourselves very fortunate to follow a training of such high caliber. Benefiting from Allen & Overy’s insights on the art of advocacy allows us to further improve our skills.

🙏 Paris Bar team would like to kindly thank Sarah Schröder for her instructive and interactive lecture on the definition of investment held at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.

👩‍🎓This lecture was further animated by our students' presentations of developments in:

- the SCI de Gaëta v. Republic of Guinea case (ICSID Case No. ARB/12/36) presented by Emma Pyrtts and,

- the Swissbourgh Diamond Mines (Pty) Limited and others v. Kingdom of Lesotho case (PCA Case No. 2013-29 and further decisions of the High Court of the Republic of Singapore [2017] SGHC 195 and the decision of the Singaporean Court of Appeal [2018] SGCA 81) presented by Igor Kirillov.

⚖️ The Advanced program in Investment Arbitration of the Paris Bar School (EFB - Ecole de Formation du Barreau) is delighted to present its 2020 team!

👩‍🎓 Composed of 10 rigorously selected Paris Bar trainee lawyers, the 2020 team will participate in a unique curriculum.

📖 Throughout the year, arbitration practitioners from major law firms will teach lectures in Investment Law and Arbitration. The students will also attend workshops in written and oral advocacy.

🌏 The team will then participate in the Foreign Direct Investment Moot (FDI Moot). After several Pre-Moots (Saint Petersburg, Dublin, Budapest and Warsaw), the global rounds will take place in Seoul in November 2020

🙏 The team would like to warmly thank the direction of this Program Nicolas Pralica and Anastasia Medvedskaya, as well as the organising committee Antoine Weber, Charlotte Fromont, Mylène Larosière, and Déborah Schneider.

👊 Nadya Attache, Ana Cuartero de Vidiella, Florence Ecochard, Yassine El Wardi, Shannen Honoré, Igor Kirillov, Shay Lakhter, Clara Motin, Emma Pyrtts, and Amélie Templin are ready to make the most out of this experience!
