The SPHYNX research group of SPEC laboratory (UMR CEA-CNRS at CEA-Saclay, http://iramis.cea.fr/spec/SPHYNX/ ) is inviting applications for a permanent physicist position in complex matter and systems to start before the end of the calendar year 2016. The successful candidate must have PhD in a relevant discipline (experimental or theoretical) with several years of research experience. As a member of SPHYNX, s/he will reinforce the group’s current scientific activities and will foster innovative research projects among them. Candidates working in active matter or in closely related fields are particularly encouraged to apply. Nevertheless, candidates in other areas of complex systems are also welcome as the final selection criteria will be his/her overall scientific excellence and a strong potential to work as a team member within SPHYNX.

Your application must include a curriculum vitae, a list of publications and a vision statement of your research interests and scientific career within SPHYNX (1-2 pages). Le groupe SPHYNX du laboratoire Service de Physique de l’Etat Condensé (SPEC, UMR CEA-CNRS du CEA-Saclay, http://iramis.cea.fr/spec/SPHYNX/ ) recrute pour la fin 2016 un(e) physicien(ne) des systèmes et de la matière complexes. Nous recherchons un(e) docteur(e), expérimentateur et/ou théoricien, avec quelques années d’expérience. Ses axes de recherche renforceront les thématiques scientifiques du SPHYNX et établiront des ponts entre elles. Une attention particulière sera accordée aux projets en lien avec la matière active, mais les critères déterminants seront l’excellence scientifique et les capacités à s’intégrer dans le groupe.

Le dossier de candidature devra être envoyé par mail à l’adresse [email protected] avant le 04 Juillet à 10h (heure de Paris). Le dossier à fournir par la/le candidat(e) comprendra un CV détaillé, une liste de publications, et une à deux pages décrivant comment il/elle envisage sa recherche et son avenir scientifique au SPHYNX. A permanent research position in the field of the physics of complex matter and complex systems will be opened in autumn 2016 in the SPHYNX research group
(http://iramis.cea.fr/spec/SPHYNX/) of the condensed matter physics laboratory, Service de Physique de l’Etat Condensé (SPEC), a joint CEA-CNRS fundamental research lab located in the center “Orme des Merisiers” of CEA-Saclay (about 25 km south of Paris).

Applicants can express their interest by sending a CV and a short description of the research directions they would like to develop in SPHYNX to: [email protected].

A full description of the position will be published by June 2016 together with the instructions to submit a formal application.
