The Fontainebleau School of Acting is an international school of excellence in the performing arts.

We deliver world-class conservatoire training in the heart of Fontainebleau. The Fontainebleau School of Acting offers a unique and intensive acting training for highly motivated young actors. Students will work with highly qualified teachers, actors and directors, who all work closely with world renowned UK and European Drama schools.

Following a hugely successful ensemble collaboration in June 2026, Head of Fonact Laurent de Montalembert visited the NATFA* academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, this week to lead an international acting workshop alongside Stefaniya Georgieva.

This intensive, highly dynamic week exploring physical space and dramatic techniques, lays the groundwork for a lasting artistic partnership between Fonact and Bulgaria's premier university of theatre and film arts.

Attention - working actors and performing arts professionals in France!

Did you know all our courses can be funded via AFDAS?

If you're a performing arts professional based in France looking to sharpen your craft, here is what you need to know 👇

WHO CAN APPLY?
AFDAS funding is designed for working professionals in the industry. You may be eligible if you are:

🎭An Intermittent du spectacle (actors/performers meeting minimum cachet requirements over the last 2 years).

📝An Artiste-Auteur (playwrights, directors, etc.).

🇫🇷 A cultural sector employee or job seeker registered with France Travail aiming to upskill.

(Note: AFDAS does not cover initial standard student degrees, but applies to continuing professional training)

HOW TO APPLY:
1️⃣ Once you've received your official offer letter
2️⃣ Log into your personal portal at my.afdas.com
3️⃣ Submit your training request with our quote at least 4 weeks before the course start date

Finally, our summer workshops finished with From Stage to Screen (FSTS) in collaboration with .prod and

Over 8 intensive weeks, the students learnt how to adapt their craft from the theatrical stage to the film lens.

The workshop culminated in a dual presentation: a live performance of their stage work alongside a screening of their completed films.

Actors left with a profound understanding of both mediums, as well as professionally produced material for their showreel — a tangible and immediate asset for entering the industry.

A lookback at pure theatre magic!

In 2023, Fonact created a unique collaboration between alumni, acting tutors and directors by staging Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at Maison dans la Vallée as part of the Shakespeare upon Avon Festival.

To paraphrase The Bard himself "'We can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks..."
