On May 7, our ICM Master’s students took the stage to present their research ideas during the annual Poster Pitch Event!

Each student had just three minutes to introduce the topic of their upcoming Master’s Thesis, with posters displayed both on paper and projected on screen. Presentations were grouped thematically, giving the audience a glimpse into the wide range of research directions being explored — from media and identity to workplace communication and global discourse.

The event also featured guest PhD speakers Romée and Maija from doctoral network, who shared insights into their current research.

This event offered ICM students a valuable opportunity to refine their presentation skills, receive constructive feedback, and engage in academic exchange with peers, faculty, and members of the doctoral research network. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making the event a success.

As this academic year comes to an end, we’re wrapping it up with a little something special — a video about the ICM Master’s program here at the University of Burgundy Europe.

The English-taught 2-year-long Master’s in Intercultural Management dives deep into the skills and insights needed to navigate today’s global landscape — all in a rich, multilingual environment. The program is run by the Languages and Communication Faculty, aiming to develop students’ skills in management, communication, and cultural awareness in global contexts. It’s tailored for those from non-business backgrounds who want to understand how culture shapes the way individuals successfully interact and connect.

P.S. It’s been an inspiring journey, and now it’s time to pass the torch to the next M1 generation. Good luck, future ICM storytellers!
With best wishes,
— Communication team members

During the Easter break, ICM students went on a one-day trip to Geneva — and what an incredible experience it was!

We started our day by visiting the beautiful Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), enjoying the fresh air, breathtaking views, and peaceful atmosphere. With the Jet d’Eau in the distance and the Alps on the horizon, the lake offered the perfect setting to relax, take photos, and appreciate Geneva’s natural beauty.

But the main goal of the trip was to visit the United Nations Office, where we had a chance to take part in a guided tour. It was an eye-opening experience to walk the halls of one of the world’s most important diplomatic centers, learning more about the UN’s work in peace, human rights, and international cooperation — both educational and truly inspiring.

This trip wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our ICA team, who planned and organised everything so thoughtfully. We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity to explore Geneva together 🇺🇳

As part of ICM master’s program, our group had the chance to take part in a study trip to Brussels — the political heart of Europe. One of the highlights of the trip was visit to the European Parliament, where we got a closer look at how EU institutions function and make key decisions that shape the lives of millions.

We were taken on a fascinating guided tour through the Parliament building, learning about its structure, history, and day-to-day operations. It was an inspiring experience to stand in the very place where European policies are debated and shaped.

During the visit, we also received valuable information about internship opportunities at the European Parliament. It was incredibly useful for those of us who are considering a future career in EU institutions or international policy. The trip gave us both knowledge and motivation to explore new professional paths.

Last Wednesday, ICM students facilitated an engaging workshop exploring French culture, common stereotypes, and how they shape intercultural interactions 🇫🇷

Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, international students explored common (and sometimes hilarious!) stereotypes about French people. From the heated pain au chocolat vs. chocolatine debate to the myth that all French people refuse to speak English—participants uncovered the truth behind these cultural perceptions. The session was not only insightful but also a great opportunity to challenge assumptions, share experiences, and develop a more nuanced understanding of French culture.

The most important takeaway is that only by debunking stereotypes and developing critical thinking can we truly become culturally aware individuals, capable of understanding and appreciating the richness of different cultures beyond clichés 🌏

ICCO 2025 exceeded all expectations! 🎉🌍

We were honored to welcome six incredible speakers from Switzerland, Belgium, and France—two of whom are proud graduates of the Intercultural Management programme at the University of Burgundy. Their diverse and extensive professional backgrounds span global mobility, parliamentary assistance, research, intercultural training, career development, and language education.

A huge thank you to our speakers for sharing their insights and answering our many questions about building a career in these dynamic fields. Your expertise and generosity truly made this event special.

And, of course, our deepest gratitude to the ICA team—Sivapriya, Youssef, Udeme and especially our president Minah—none of this would have been possible without you!

See you all next year for another inspiring ICCO ✨
